Acts and Letters of the Apostles

Scripture Memory Verse


“After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to
preach the gospel to them.” – Acts 16:10
FIRST DAY: Read the notes and the references.
1. Use this space to record how you have seen God’s activity during the week. (How has He provided, answered,
comforted, reconciled, guided, etc.?)

2. What from the notes, lecture, group sharing or personal study impacted you most in the past week?

SECOND DAY: Read 1 Thessalonians 1 with Acts 17:1-10.


Paul gave thanks for the Thessalonians’ faith.
3. List the characteristics of the Thessalonian believers that Paul described as a model for others. Which one
stands out to you?
1. The Thessalonians responded to the gospel by becoming followers.
2. The Thessalonians responded to the Gospel by becoming examples.
3. The Thessalonians responded by sounding forth the Word of the Lord.

The good work the Lord did among the Thessalonians became known all over the region, and everyone talked about
the changes.

4. What do you learn about the Christian life? Whom have you chosen to imitate, and why?

1. Christian life should imitate the life of Jesus Christ


2. Christian should face their adversaries and afflictions with joy of the Holy Spirit

5. What verses spoke to you most profoundly about God, His people or yourself?

1Thess 1:8 “The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become
known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it”

THIRD DAY: Read 1 Thessalonians 2-3.
Paul and Timothy encouraged believers for their faith.
6. Describe Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica. What do you learn about following Jesus?

Paul’s gentle, humble attitude among the Thessalonians demonstrated his motives were pure.
Paul’s own behavior and message to the Thessalonians demonstrates the integrity of his character before God and man.
Paul is thankful that they welcomed the Gospel as God’s message, not man’s.

7. What do you learn about afflictions? How have you experienced difficulty as you follow Christ?

The Thessalonians willingly suffered the same things because they were convinced that Paul brought them not the word
of man, but the Word of God. The word of man isn’t worth suffering for, but a true message from God is worth it.

8. How did Paul express his love and concern for his fellow believers? How does this inspire you to love and
care for others in the same way?

Paul prayed for them day and night.


Paul taught them how to Abound in love to one another and to all

FOURTH DAY: Read 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12; 5:12-28.


Believers are called to live a holy life.
9. Describe the holy life God calls us to live. Which one do you find the most challenging?

We should live a life that is an example, lacking nothing.


That you may walk properly toward those who are outside: When we combine the love of our brothers with work,
we walk properly. People who are not yet Christians (those who are outside) will see our example and be influenced to
become followers of Jesus.

We should live a life of work.


we should have an aspiration or ambition in life, Christian must focus on his or her own life and matters, instead of
meddling in the lives of others. We must recognize the dignity and honor of work. Work is God’s plan for the progress
of society and the church.

10. What do you learn about God’s will?

God’s will is for us to live in harmony abounding in love for one another.
God’s will is for us to live a life of sexual purity
God’s will is for us to live as a good example to others so them may follow the one we follow Jesus Christ
God’s will is for us to work diligently with aspiration or ambition in life.

11. What opportunity is God giving you to live out His will?

God has given me work to do so that I can demonstrate His will to other people

FIFTH DAY: Read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11.
The Lord will return to be bring His children to be with Him forever.
12. a. To what has God appointed us?
God appointed us to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ

b. To what has He not appointed us?


God did not appoint us to his wrath

c. How do these truths encourage you to faithfully wait on Christ’s return?

When Jesus died on the cross, He stood in our place in our appointment to wrath and reschedules us with an
appointment to obtain salvation. As believers, when we think we are appointed to wrath, we show up for an
appointment that was canceled by Jesus.

13. What do you learn about the return of Jesus Christ?


the coming of Jesus will be a surprise for everybody, because no one knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36). But
for Christians who know the times and the seasons, it will not be a complete surprise.

14. What truths about the Lord’s return are the most precious to you? What difference does it make in your
present situation?

SIXTH DAY: Review 1 Thessalonians.


15. What did you learn about God, and what did you learn about yourself?
