Recruitment Peer Researcher

Gateway Mental Health Project

The Project
The Gateway Member Consultation, will explore the views of Gateway members. The consultation
process will take place over three months between March and May 2020 and will be managed by
Gateway’s Management Committee.

The Role
Working as part of the member consultation team, the Peer Researcher will support Gateway
members to participate in the review process and will work with and support the Project Co-
ordinator and the Independent Consultant in gathering the views of Gateway members through
consultation by survey and focus groups and co-producing a draft report of the feedback and
findings for Gateway’s Management Committee.

Who May Apply


Applicants will be a member of Gateway and will be expected to have:
 Knowledge of how Gateway operates as a peer social support project and how people
participate through Gateway;
 Understanding of Gateway as part of the local community;
 Knowledge of how mental health services are delivered by the HSE and other providers;
 Experience of working with data and data protection
 Experience in a team-working environment, with the ability to build positive relationships
and work independently;
 Experience of co-facilitating groups;
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;
 Basic research, analytical skills and IT skills are necessary. Induction will be provided as
required.

Conditions of employment:
The Peer Researcher will be work as self-employed contractor and based in Gateway. The contract
will be for a total of 100 hours at the Living Wage rate of €12.30 per hour. Full payment will be
€1,230 (100 hours) with hours spread over 3 month period. Payment will be made on receipt of
invoices on a monthly basis.
