Guide Questions:
 Write examples of a noun or pronounon the chalkboard.

B. Presentation
Activity 1.

Rule #1. A singular subject taken a singular verb; whereas a plural subject taken a
plural verb.
Rule #2. The following indefinite pronoun are singular; each, either, neither, one,
everybody, no one, everybody, no one, nobody, anyone, anybody, someone,
somebody.
Rule #3. The words few, many, both and several take a plural verb.

Rule #4. When two subject6s are joined by”and” the verb in plural.
Rule#5. The words few, many, both and several take a plural word.

Rule #6. Nouns plural in form but singular in meaning such as Physics, Economics,
Mathematics, Measles, Civics, news, take singular verb.
Rule #7. Fractions may take singular or plural verbs depending on the following
phrase.

Rule #8. The expression the number taken a singular verb, the expression a number
taken a plural verb
Rule #9. There is/ was is followed by a singular noun, There are is followed by a plural
noun.
