PETROL BUNK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Abstract :

The management of the petrol pump is done by the manager manually which is a difficult
process. The Project deals with the development of the computerized system for maintaining the
regular records. The Project consists of various forms and developed with the help of the VB.net
Language Programming. This petrol bunk management system project means that what the
various activities are been carried out at the petrol system. In these project we will be
including about how we can find out the information about the various petrol pump.

In this application software, activities in the petrol bunk are manipulated systematically. In the
existing system all the activities and record maintenance of the petrol bunk are done manually by
the manager. By this software admin can add the quantity of petrol which is imported in that
particular month and sales details of the petrol based on daily, monthly and yearly wise and there
is record maintenance about the wastage of the impurities during the refining process.
1.2 Objectives :

The main objective of the project on Petrol bunk management system is to manage the
details of the Fuels, Stocks, Sales, Tankers, Meter Reading. It manages all the information about
fuels inventory, Meter Readings. The project is totally built at administrative end and thus only
the administrator can access the system. The purpose of the project is to built an application
program to reduce the manual work for managing the fuels, Stocks, Inventory and Sales. It
tracks all the details about the sales, Tankers and Meter Reading.

1.2 Scope :

It may help collecting perfect management in details. In a very short time, the collection
will be obvious, simple and sensible. It will help a person to know the management of the past
year perfectly. It also helps in current all work relative to Petrol Bunk Management system. It
will also reduce the cost of collecting the management and collection procedure will move on
smoothly. Our system aims at business process automation, that is we have tried to computerize
various of petrol bunk management system.

The hardware specification is necessary to support the proposed system, which have
been identified, ordered, delivered, installed and tested at the time of installation.

The software specification is the one says about the development environment of the
package.

3. SYSTEM ANALYSIS

3.1 Existing System:

In the existing system most of the details are maintained manually. Due to this the data
retrieved is time consuming. Due to human calculation errors occur. Even when the data is
maintained on spreadsheet inconsistency occurs as an order might be missed or wrongly entered
or twice. Data are stride an excel sheet which takes lot of time and data may be corrupted. As
storage and exchange of data is achieved only by use of excel sheets which lack validation
capabilities, there is always risk of invalid, inaccurate or incomplete data being fed in computer.

Drawbacks of the Existing System:

 Accuracy not guaranteed
 Not in reach of distant users.
3.2 Proposed System:

The proposed system is computerized and has been developed using advance language
therefore it gives more facilities than present system. It provides quick access to any data. In this
system user have to enter the data only once and then it get linked with all files. This reduces the
workload of user and it is also a time saving process. The information about any Subscriber can
be easily retrieved. The system maintains all records easy.

3.3 Module Description:

Login module

It is used for logging in the automobile spare part management system. It is used for verifying
the user. Once the user is authenticated, they can access the system.

Employee module

This module is used to know the details of the employee’s working in a petrol bunk. The salary
details, Leave details are all shown in this module.

Import module

Import module is used by the admin to add the records about the import details of the petrol in
month or daily wise. This record maintenance about the number of liters which is imported
during the particular month.

Wastage module

This module is used to manage the records about the wastage from the petrol during the refining
process. Imported petrol is not directly supplied to the customer it undergoes some refining
processes. During the refining processes, some amount of impurities are excreted as waste. Due
to the excretion there is a reduction in the input. So wastage module is used to calculate the
wastage amount from the input

Sales Module

Sales module is under the control of the sales person and manager in the petrol bunk. In the
every sale record about that sale is inserted into the database which is manipulated by the sales
person in the petrol bunk and admin can view the overall records about the sales list.
Report module

Report module is the module which is used for the report maintenance about the overall activities
in the petrol bunk. By this module monthly or yearly report is generated about the sales details of
the petrol.
