Important Points in Work
Immersion
Introduction

What is Work Immersion

The aim of Work Immersion is to let the students to understand how the work environment is

flowing, this subject is required to them to have their first work experience for their future also,

they need to absorb the work environment and for them to know where they are capable to work

for. The Senior High Students must be ready in the work field for them to realize how it is hard

when they are stepping in to it.

For me, Work Immersion prepares student for the real world by training them how to work in a

company and eventually excel in a specific career. The school needs to ensure that its students

gain various competencies that would have these future professionals ready for employment. It

enhances more the skills of a student and it can boost their confidence and train their discipline

greater. For the sake of their future, work immersion will be their training grounds and guide for

them to have more experience and to hone their selves for the better future.

Work Immersion is a big help for the students like us, because it is the start of training and

practicing us for the future and for us to experience what is happening in the work field. This

experience will be treasured and it will be use for other experience and for my future work. We

can apply this work immersion in many ways like the things and mostly the proper manners

when you are inside or outside of the office.

OBJECTIVE OF THE WORK IMMERSION

The K to 12 Basic Education programs’ purpose is to discover, improve and develop the
learners Learning Competencies and to guide the learners to pursue their chosen career. And to
develop a better nation. The work immersion is under the K to 12 curriculums. It gives
opportunities to the learners:

1.To develop a better communication.

2.To adapt a new environment.

3.To improve, develop, and apply their competencies.

4.To prepare them for employment.

Learners are distributed in different establishments, offices and Laboratories as their

work place for their work immersion/actual job. Through company’s partnership, they are
expected to help the learners in their work immersion, to give them the opportunities, to have or
experience perform actual job, for new learning’s. To make the learners

1.Improve their knowledge and skills to be more productive.

2.To develop a good communication and good relationship towards others.

3.To build up work ethics, attitudes, and the value of works.

During the work immersion in Senior High School, the learners develop a good social
interaction, that will help them to build-up and maintain a good relationship towards others, work
immersion gives them a chance to apply what they have learned about their specialization for
their improvement and development of their skill and to increase their knowledge and for the
preparation of employment, for proceeding in the higher education. The objectives written above
was guided by policy to:

1.Create an adaptable work immersion.

2.Give an optional work immersion.

3.Provide / give a safe and comfortable work place.

Values and Attributes of a Work Immersion Student

Responsible- In a work environment, there are targets to be achieved on a daily or monthly

basis. As such, it is important to do your part in the whole process. Ensure that you deliver your

work with quality, commitment and on time.

Remarkable Work Ethics- Work ethics is the set of work principles you live by. Show to

your colleagues and supervisors that you are dedicated to your job in the immersion. Avoid

complaining about tasks given to you. Be honest. Avoid giving excuses. Do not submit sloppy

work. Stay focused on what need to be done.

Patience-is a key element of success in the workplace. Many a time, you need to face such

situations that require patience. Such as, you need to work some extra hours due to urgency of

some matters. It demands listening to the viewpoints of your superiors or colleagues patiently.

Attitude- Your attitude to work is your perceptions of, beliefs about and attachment to

your work. A positive attitude toward work will yield good results and a negative attitude toward

work will yield no results as opposed to bad results as people might think.
Part II: Activity Report
Daily Accomplishment Report
Day 1 (January 6)

On my first day at the city hall, it is a welcome day for me because our head on the
P.I.O tell us the history and the objectives inside the office. I have known that it is
the center of information and this office manages to organize before the news or
the information will be delivered into the public. My first day was a very
informative day because many lectures about governance of the city and the
process inside the office.
Day 2 (January 7)

This day is a productive day, because we have start doing things inside the office,
some clerical works like organizing and compiling past day news papers and
auditing the news papers that have been delivered into the office. They give us
more clerical works inside to be familiar on what we will do everyday. Our Head
said that the day for tomorrow will be our meeting to the OIC of the P.I.O.
Day 3 (January 8)

This is the day that we will meet the OIC of the P.I.O which is Ms. Mayi, she is so
very pleasant and glad to meet us, she is happy because the office of the P.I.O will
be productive by our little help for some paper works and giving them the papers
that they need on time.
Day 4 (January 9)

On this day, we have met our co-student workers from Arellano University, they
our not like us because they are SPES students, they are the working students who
joins the propaganda of our city and organization of PESO, we have known that
this project helps the teenagers to have some part time job for them to earn money
for their work inside the city hall. All this day we have been talking and knowing
this program so we can apply on it too.
Day 5 (January 10)

It is the continuation of the 4th day discussion, i am asking about the SPES for me
to be able.to.apply on it, and we have been notified that the SPES application will
be available next week monday at the office of PESO. I am glad to know about it
because i want to apply my knowledge about P.I.O and my personal knowledge on
the working field. This day is also a productive day inside the office.
Day 6 (January 14)

Monday was a rest day for us because it is suspended

due to the head line of the news The Taal Volcano is Planning to erupt because of
its long time break on Volcanic eruption. The News have said that the Ashfall.can
be harmfull to us whem we enhaled it. So we have many works and files to do to
deliver this message to the Malabonians.
Day 7 (January 15)

It was a busy day because we have a long break, and our office also, we have some
breaking news about the ash fall from tagaytay where the Taal Volcano is located.
The news that i encode have said that the Taal Volcano is have mild eruption
status, the researchers have said the this volcano has the long time in peace so they
have to increase the level of intensity in the province because it is to dangerous for
the people. So the municipality of Malabon dictates that monday (January 13)
classes and working hours will be suspended.
Day 8 (January 16)

Another Busy day because of the cancelation of classes on monday due to ash fall,
we do some encoding of news to separate it in different news papers, and we need
to deliver the news papers on the offices that needs the information also, on this
day we have been going to Ms. Mayi so many times yo have her signature on the
important papers of the P.I.O Office.
Day 9 (January 17)

The day that is near on the last day, we have encounter and see the next batch of
work immersion students from other schools, I am very happy because I have
experience this kind of thing in my life, to be a part of Local Government Unit is
not to easy but it teaches me how to work in the reality and how I can see my
future. We have a rest morning to afternoon on this day, but the after lunch part
was the very busy part because we have done rounding from 5th floor up to 7th
floor 5 times to find and to take the signature of Ms. Mayi. Its been a tiring day yet
but it is so fun.
Day 10 ( January 20)

Last day of our work immersion day, for me it was the most busy day because
when I go to office it is to early, I reach the office at the time 7am exactly I think.
the flag ceremony have not done yet. But when we will go to office, we have seen
many news papers again for friday, saturday, sunday and monday, we need to
deliver it into the office of COA, Mayors Office, Vice Mayors Office, Treasury
Department and on Accounting Department. Morning time a stairs time, when we
have reach the office again we have some talks on our co workers and they are
glad that they have us for some short period of time, they are happy to have
immersion students that works for P.I.O and they have been give us the great
experience that i have done for this year.
Activity Highlights

I have learn the importance of the offices that is functioning here in Malabon, our head

thought us the circle of information inside the office of the P.I.O. We have begin to work on

encoding and distributing papers around city hall, each day was a busy day for us, every morning

we always encode the news that we are gathering in every news paper. The most news paper that

has the news that we encode is "STAR" since it is our first day until fifth day I encode data from

the news papers that have connections on our City. I have known that Malabon and Navotas has

a trading system that until now is existing and the two mayors have the collaboration to build and

to enhance their own Cities.

The day sixth until the end we have encountered the news about the Taal Volcano

Eruption, we are assign to encode the different news about it because it is a Calamity that can

harm the people around Batangas and the Ash fall was travelling from Batangas up to different

Cities. Monday has a cancelation of classes because of the possibilities of the harmful ash fall. I

have learned the circulation of the paper before it is distributed to the people of our city.

Important news like this is important to be known by the people, as the P.I.O manages the

facebook page of our mayor, they need to distribute the news as early as possible like cancelation

of classes due to the calamity like the ash fall. P.I.O is twenty four seven work. They have the

big responsibility because the news that they are delivering is important to everyone here in the

city of Malabon.
Part III:
Reflection
Problems Encountered

Some primary problems like delay of distribution of information and

delayed from signaturing important papers that is needed to be distributed on time.

This is the problems that are rarely happening inside the office of Public

Information Office.

Suggestions and Recommendations

They must do some things for the late distribution to be solve. I think they

need to do signature stamps and assign some persons that is authorized and always

there to look for the paper and give the stamp signature on it. Like for Ms. Mayi

the Officer in Charge on the office of P.I.O she is always attending meetings and

seminars so she is not available as always.
