How to conduct a research?

Following are the steps to conduct a research:

1. Clearly define your topic

2. Define variables regarding to topic (Four types of variables in research)

 Dependent
 Independent
 Moderating
 intervening

It is not compulsory that each research should have all four types of variables.

3. Design your theoretical frame work (its mean show the relationship of variables in
diagram like as)

4. Design a questionnaire to collect data for statistical analysis ( this questionnaire should
have one effective scale and in that questionnaire there should be more than one
question for each variable)
Questions should show the actual relation of variables

5. Collect data from other sources also for references:

a. Books
b. Articles
c. Internet
d. Personal interview
e. Form regarding expertise
f. Etc.
6. Fill the questionnaires samples and put the collected information according to used
scale and show the relation of variables statistically or numerically.

7. At last the most important step: never forget your concept about topic to compare with
other references and statistical results so that you can easily write down your abstract in
project.
PROJECT CHAPTERS AND THEIR ARRANGEMENTS
Following are the chapters should include in a research project:

1. Dedication

2. Abstract

3. Introduction to topic (including the purpose to conduct research)

4. Review of Literature (As much detail as you can)

5. Introduction to variables

6. Theoretical Framework

7. Statistical Analysis

8. Graphical analysis (if possible)

9. Results of your conducted research

10. Summary of your project

11. Appendix
KEY TERMS USED IN THIS DOCUMENT

 Dependent Variable:
The dependent variable is the variable of primary interest to the researcher. The
researcher’s goal is to understand and describe the dependent variable.
 Independent Variable:
An independent variable is one that influences the dependent variable in either a
positive or negative way.
 Moderating Variable:
The moderating variable is one that has a strong contingent effect on the
independent variable- dependent variable relationship.
 Intervening Variable:
An intervening variable is one that surfaces between the times the independent
variable start operating to influence the dependent variable and the time their
impact is felt on it.
 Theoretical frame work:
The theoretical framework is the foundation on which the entire research
project is based. It is a logically developed, described and elaborated network of
associations among the variables deemed relevant to the problem situation.
