The Donkey, Fox, and the Wolf

Once, a young donkey was eating in the field. A fox

saw the donkey and come closer.
“Hi, there? I’ve never seen you before. Who are you?”
“Hi! I carry heavy loads around here.”
“Oh, I see. What’s your name?”
“My name? It’s on my foot. Would you like to take a
look?”
“If I lean over to take a look, he might just kick me!”
“Never mind. I better get going now.”

“Hmm. What if the foolish wolf met him?”

The fox went to the wolf right away.
“I’m starving.”
“Hey wolf, you look so hungry. I think I just saw a
young and chubby fellow over there.”
“Oh, really? I must go and see it.”

“Hello? I’m a wolf. Who are you?”

“Hi! I carry heavy loads around here.”
“So, what’s your name?”
“My name? It’s on my foot. Would you like to take a
look?”
“On your foot? Let’s see. Ffuhh.. Ffuuh..”
“TAKE THIS!”
“Ouch!”
“Thought you could eat me?”

“(Laugh) You foolish wolf! (laugh).”

The Peacock and the Crane

Once, there was a beautiful peacock in the woods.
“Wow, peacock! Your feathers are so beautiful!”
“Colorful and shiny. Aren’t they gorgeous?”
“Yes, they are. I wish I could have colorful feathers just like you.”
“(Laugh) Only I, the peacock, can have these beautiful feathers. Don’t even
dream about it.”
“(Sigh) What a show off!”

The peacock went to the riverside for some water.

“Who is that? A long neck and cool legs. Looks quite elegant, but I don’t like the
feathers though.”

“Hi. Who are you? I’ve never seen you around.”

“I’m a crane.”
“A crane, huh? I’m peacock. I have feathers that are shiny and gorgeous.”
“Oh oh, right. They look good.”
The crane walked along the river.

“(Sigh) She wasn’t even surprised!”

“Look at all these colors of the rainbow on my feathers. What’s wrong with
yours? They look gray and dusty!”
“Yes, you are very beautiful. But I don’t envy you at all.”
“What? Don’t lie! How could you not envy these beautiful feathers?”

(Starting to fly.)
“I can fly up into the sky with my wings. I travel around the world and go
wherever I want.”

“Oh, I see.”

“What can you do with those feathers? Grooming and showing off, what else can
you do? It seems you look good on the outside but not inside.”

The peacock felt so ashamed, she folded her feathers.

“Oh, gee.”
(All is laughing.)

The Old Lion and the Fox

Once upon a time, there was an old lion lying down under the blazing sun.
“I’m so hungry, but I’m too old and slow to hunt. I’m starving.... Ah, good. That will
do!”

“Hello, little rat! Roar!”

“Oh my! Mr. Lion.”
“I’m not feeling well. Go tell everyone to pay a visit to this sick lion. Have I made
myself clear?”
“Yes, sir.”

The rat goes to other animals and inform them that Mr. Lion is sick.
“What? Mr. Lion is sick?”
“He sure is. And he said we must pay him a visit.”
“Oh, let’s go before he gets angry.”

The animals had no choice but to visit the old lion.

“Hello, Mr. Lion. How are you feeling?”
“Oh, it’s you, the deer. Please come in. I’m feeling so sick.”
“Roaarrr..”

Then the little monkey comes to the lion’s den.

“Hello, Mr. Lion. Are you feeling better?”
“Welcome, little monkey. Please come in.”
“Roaarrr..”

The animals disappeared one by one.

“That’s strange. No one came back from Mr. Lion’s den. I have to find out what
happened.”

“I am brilliant! I made my dinner walk right into my den! Although, someone is late.
Oh yes, the fox hasn’t come yet.”

The fox finally came.

“Mr. Liooon!”
“At last! It’s the fox!”
“Mr. Lion, how are you feeling? Sorry I took so long.”
“I feel a lot better thanks to all the animals. Please come inside. Come on in, fox!”
“Mr. Lion, this is strange! There are footprints leading inside, but none going outside.”
“Um, that is...”

(Running) “No way I’m going in! I don’t want to be eaten today!”
Thanks to the wise fox, no animal came near the lion’s den ever again.

“Hello! My name is City Mouse. Nice to meet you.”

“Welcome to the country.”

“Thank you!”

“YUMMY. I like beans and rice!”
“YUCKY. I don’t like beans and rice. I like cookies and cake!”

At night, there are many sounds.

“Cock-a-doodle-doo!” says a rooster.
“Woof woof!” says a dog.
“Hoot hoot,” says a big owl.
City Mouse doesn’t like the country sounds.

In the morning, City Mouse says

“The country is scary! Let’s go to my house together. It’s in the city.
Everyone likes the city!”

So, City Mouse and Country Mouse go to the city.

“This is my house. Welcome!”

“Thank you!”

Suddenly, a scary fat cat comes. “Mmm... I like mice! I like to eat mice!”
City Mouse and Country Mouse run away.

City Mouse and Country Mouse have dinner.

“YUM. I like cookies and cake!”
“Oh, I don’t like cookies and cake!”

Suddenly, some people come into the kitchen.

“Eek! They are mice!” says the woman.
“Catch them! Catch the mice!”
City Mouse and Country Mouse run away quickly.

In the morning, Country Mouse leaves.

“Thank you!”
“You’re welcome. Goodbye!”
“Bye!”

At home, Country Mouse is happy. He doesn’t go to the city again.

“This is my favorite place in the world.”
“There’s no place like home!”
