Turtle Graphics

For children to do basic programming

How it works? Controlling the movement of the ‘turtle’ on the screen by typing the commands

Uses: to carry out drawing functions

Common Instructions:

 Forward(x): move forward x-cm

 Backward(x): move backward x-cm
 Left(d): move to the left d-degrees
 Right(d): move to the right d-degrees
 Repeat(n): repeat commands
 End Repeat

Applications on Sensor
Controlling application
 Monitoring: collects data n updates the files or data. It will give notices not result any results.
Ex: burglar
 Controlling: reviews data w/ sensors, give notices and automatically changes the process

Washing Machine: time, water volume, rotation, refill water, dryer, etc.

Street Lamps: Image controlled street light control: amount of vehicles and presence of snow so
they’ll dim the light because snow is reflective

Light sensors; amount of light present to let the controller know to turn on the light. Uses photocells

Controlling Chemical Process

 Amount of chemicals, electromagnet, etc

Fingerprint-based attendance management system

 Collects data of attendance

 The sensor is linked to a monitor to update the data and match the fingerprint
 Usually update overnight
 More secured

Disadvantage of sensor
 Expensive
 May break down
 Easily hacked

Advantage of sensor

 Efficient
 Accurate
 Can be taken more frequently
 Update automatically
 Keep data safe

Greenhouse environment
 Sensors to control the environment
 5 sensors: humidity, moisture, temp, pH, and light

Advantages of Controlling applications

 Safer
 Direct response
 Accurate

Robotics
 Used for heavy work
 Uses a computer

Advantage:

 Efficient
 Doesn’t require wages
 Higher productivity
 Doesn’t get bored/ tired
 Can work in dangerous environments

Disadvantages:

 Difficult to do ‘unusual task’

 Unemployment
 Risk of deskilling
 Repot dipindahin
