Presentation of the offer
Introduction
Today, the productivity, operating safety, continuity of service and availability requirements of installations
are such that at all levels of a company, the quest for high performance is a major consideration.
The experience gained by Schneider Electric in carrying out more than 5000 medium-voltage retrofits on Belledonne,
Taillefer, Fluair and Vercors cubicles and more than 3000 low-voltage retrofits on T140, T12 and
Masterbloc switchboards has enabled the Center to acquire the expertise and know-how required
to help you secure the loyalty of your customers.
According to the equipment concerned, Schneider Electric offers different types of services, including:
p Supplying spare parts,
p Modifying cubicles,
p Replacing protective devices,
p Replacing original devices with latest-generation devices.
There are various ways of replacing old devices. The most usual methods are:
Retrofit: the original circuit breaker and its truck are replaced
p The connection interfaces (power and low voltage) are adapted for use on the original cubicle.
p The new circuit breaker is fitted with the new interfaces.
p The solution is tested mechanically with the mounting jig.
Retrofil: the original truck is retained and fitted with a new circuit breaker
p The original truck is renovated.
p The power interfaces are either retained and renovated or they are recreated.
p The new circuit breaker is adapted for mounting on the original truck.
p The solution is tested mechanically with the mounting jig.
Schneider Electric can also implement these solutions with devices manufactured by its competitors
(Alstom, Calor Emag, ABB, ASEA, BBC, UNELEC, AREVA).
Many retrofitted devices are in use worldwide.
Schneider Electric is actively working to improve delivery times and optimise the costs of retrofit/retrofil
solutions in order to provide you with constant support and help in ensuring customer satisfaction.
We pay particular attention to quality, which is our major consideration.

Renovation solutions
Scope of the offer

Switchboard renovation
p Progressive replacement without modification of customers’ equipment:
renovation of medium and low voltage switchgear,
kits for improving equipment.
p Complete replacement or addition of cubicles by extension:
insertion of cubicles into the switchboard with connection ducts,
addition at the end of the switchboard of cubicles identical to the initial cubicle,
in accordance with floor space constraints.
Switchgear renovation
Replacement of old medium and low voltage switchgear and protection devices
by retrofit/retrofil solutions.
Supply of spare parts
Ensure the supply of spare parts for equipment that is no longer commercialized
by the equipment-producing departments.

Product life cycle
There are four major phases in the product life cycle:
Commercialization period
The product is launched on the market and is included in the Schneider Electric catalogue.
The supply of spare parts is guaranteed.
Guaranteed spare parts supply period

The product is withdrawn from the market.
Schneider Electric continues to supply spare parts for a limited period of time.
Generally speaking, the average guaranteed spare part supply period
after the end of commercialization is :
p medium voltage: 12 years
p low voltage power: 10 years
p compact (accessories - devices): 3 years
p electronic equipment: according to the range
When the end of the guarantee period is reached, the product is considered to be expired.
Non-guaranteed spare parts supply period

As of the expiry date, the product is considered to be expired.
Spare part stock and supply are no longer guaranteed after the expiry date.
This period ends on the date on which the spare part offer is ended.
On that date, the stocks are entirely destroyed as well as the manufacturing tools.

Commercialization of a retrofit offer for the replacement of old switchgear and protection devices.
The supply of retrofits will stop at the end of the commercialization of the new devices used.
The spare parts for these retrofits will therefore be handled as described above.

The Masterpact NW can be mounted in the Masterpact M frame.
The Plug and Play solution consists of:

The kit consists of:

Retrofitting competitors’ devices
Medium voltage
Medium-voltage devices can be replaced according to the retrofit or retrofil principle.
In the case of medium-voltage devices manufactured by our competitors, the retrofil solution is the simplest
and fastest method of replacing a customer’s equipment.
We can renovate a customer’s original truck and fit it with a Schneider Electric device, circuit breaker or contactor.
The power connection elements are either renovated or reconditioned.
The devices are then tested for dielectric withstand and overheating and undergo mechanical tests.

Low voltage
The retrofit principle can be used to replace low-voltage devices manufactured by our competitors.
Both the device and its truck can be replaced with a complete Schneider Electric device and
the auxiliaries connections recreated.
With the retrofit solution, as the devices have already been tested, only a power connection
overheating test is carried out.
