INTRODUCTION
The Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT) - 2009 will be held for admission to First Year
Masters Degree Programmes in Engineering / Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture. Candidates
who do not have a valid GATE rank (Non-GATE) in 2009 are required to appear this test. This
test will be conducted by an online process. Candidates having valid GATE Rank (GATE) do not
have to appear this test, but they have to apply through this online application form. The
procedure for preparation of Merit List has been described in the Clause No.1.12.

IMPORTANT NOTES :
1. Download the E-Information Brochure and read it carefully. Then fill out the on-line
application form avaible in our website www.bput.org.
2. Enter/Choose/click in the required information in the appropriate spaces in the application
form.
3. Your photograph should be in jpg format (digital) with less than 200KB size. This should
be uploaded in the application in the prescribed space.
4. Enter the complete address giving your name and PINCODE carefully.
5. You are advised to ensure the correctness of your mailing address, PINCODE, and telephone
number, if any, with STD codes. Please note that PGAT-2009 will not be responsible if
communications do not reach you due to incomplete or illegible address/ phone number.
6. Enter your correct e-mail adress for communication.
7. You must quote the nine digit registration number (after submission of your online
application form) as a reference in all your future correspondence.
8. Your online application form must be complete in all aspects. Incomplete application
or application filled in a language other than English will be summarily rejected.
9. Options such as Category and Reservation filled by you in the application form can not
be changed at a later stage.
10. Only give options with respect to category (NRI, State,Outside State) and Reservation
type (SC/ST) that you can substantiate with documentary evidence during counselling.
11. The High Court of Orissa at Cuttack alone shall have the jurisdiction to settle and decide
all the disputes related to PGAT-2009. No other Court in the country shall have jurisdiction
in this regard.
12. All the demand drafts for this examination should be made in favour of ‘Biju Patnaik
university of Technology’ payable at Bhubanrswar.
13. Do not send hard copy of the application form.
14. Original certificates, mark sheets and other documents will be verified at the time of on-
line test (for Non-GATE candidates) and at the time of verification of documents (for
GATE candidates) with respect to eligibility, category and reservation that your are claiming.
15. Your claim for admission will be rejected if you can not submit the certificates,
mark sheets, other necessary documents at the time of online test and counseling
or if you have filled the form wrongly.
16. Your admission may be cancelled at any time, if certificate/ mark sheets / any other
documents found to be forged or manipulated. A candidate will not be considered for
admission if he/she fails to substantiate the claim with respect to reservation, category,
nativity, date of birth, qualification etc.
PLEASE ENSURE BEFORE SUBMITTING THE ON-LINE APPLICATION THAT:
a. You have followed all the instructions in filling the form. You have gone through the
important notes carefully.
b. You have entered/clicked all the required information correctly in appropriate places.
Original documents to be brought on the day of the online test for Non-Gate candidates
and GATE candidates are to submit these documents of the day of Verification of
documents. One set of xerox copies are also to submitted.
a. Downloaded Admit card.
b. Rs.16,000/- demand draft in favour of BPUT payable at Bhubaneswar.
c. Original Date of Birth Certificate / 10th certificate.
d. Degree Certificate.
e. Degree Grade/ Mark sheet.
f. Original GATE score card (for GATE candidates)
g. College Leaving Certificate.
h. Residential Certificate in the prescribed form (Appendix-I).
i. Relevant SC/ST Certificate in the prescribed form (Appendix-III).
j. Any other relevant certificate as mentioned in this Brochure.

All colleges offering M Tech/M. Pharm/M. Arch programmes are either constituent or affiliated
colleges of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Orissa, Rourkela or VSSUT, Burla. All the
students to be admitted through PGAT 2009 will be registered students of the Biju Patnaik
University of Technology or VSSUT.
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Online application form duly filled in should be submitted on or before August 24, 2009.
i) Hand-delivery of forms at the university will not be accepted.
ii) The PGAT-2009 committee will not accept responsibility for any online delay or
irregularity or loss in submitting the online application form.
1.2 The Post Graduate Admission Test-2009 will be held from September 2-9, 2009. The
exact timing will be informed in our website.
(a) Non-GATE candidates: Before entering the examination hall, the original certificates
and grade sheets will be verified. The candidates are required to bring the original
certificates and grade sheets and a DD of Rs.16,000/- with them on the date of
their examination (online test). In addition, the candidates are required to deposit
DD of Rs.1000/- (in favour of BPUT payable at Bhubaneswar) for each course of
study on the day of on-line test to beheld during September 2-9, 2009 (the exact
timing will be notified in our website).
(b) GATE candidates: The schedule for verfication of certificates and gradesheets for
GATE Rank holders will be as follows (at CET, Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar):

The detail timing will be notified in our website. The candidates are required to bring the
original certificates and grade sheets and DD of Rs.16,000/- with them on the date of
their examination (online test). in addition the candidates are required to deposit DD of
Rs.500/- (for GATE candidates) (in favour of BPUT payable at Bhubaneswar) for each
course of study on the day of verification of documents.

1.3 Do not send any hard copy of the application. In no case this would be considered.
1.4 For each course of study (M.Tech) one set of online application has to be
submitted. Candidate are required to give the on-line test for each branch of study and
in addition they have to deposit Rs.1000/(demand draft in favour of BPUT payable at
Bhubaneswar) for each branch of study.
1.5 Any correspondence in future, should mention the application number. The candidates
are advised to keep a copy of the acknowledgement form.
1.6 All correspondence should be made through e-mail.
1.7 Availability of Courses :
PGAT-2009 will be conducted to draw the merit list of successful candidates for admission
into :
i) Master Degree in Engineering/Technology in different branches for engineering
colleges / institutes in the State of Orissa affiliated to BPUT and to VSSUT.
ii) Master Degree in Pharmacy in different branches for Pharmacy colleges / institutes
in the State of Orissa affiliated to BPUT.
iii) Master Degree in Architecture in different branches for Architecture colleges /
institutes in the State of Orissa affiliated to BPUT.
Note : List of Colleges / Institutes and availability of seats approved by AICTE as
on 31.7.2009 with affiliation from BPUT by August 25, 2009 will be considered
for counselling. This would be published in our website www.bput.org.
1.8 Fee Structure :
1.8.1 Fees payable to colleges :
Fees payable to colleges at the time of admission will be decided by the competent
authority.
1.8.2.(a)Fees payable to Biju Patnaik University of Technology:
The University will charge the following fees from all the students admitted to
its constituent/affiliated colleges.

1. One time Curriculum Development Fee Rs.1500/-

2. One time Fees payable towards Rs.500/-


Welfare Fund for Students
3. One time University Registration Fee Rs.500/-

4. Subject wise Registration Fee in each Rs.100/-


Semester (Per subject)

1.9 Age limit :


Wherever there is no age limit for taking admission (vide clause 4), the PGAT/BPUT will
not be responsible for any regulation of service where such requirement for age exists.
The candidate should take admission at his/her own risk as regards to age.
1.10 Medical Fitness :
PGAT/BPUT will not be responsible if a candidate faces difficulty in employment on
medical ground.
1.11 Merit List :
Separate merit list for all qualifying candidates shall be drawn on the basis of PGAT-
2009 results in the following manner.
i) One for candidates seeking admission to Master Programme in each branch of
Engineering/Technology on the basis of marks obtained in the on-line test/qualifying
examination/GATE score.
Candidates having Degree in Engineering in the disciplines indicated in Column - I
are elgible to be admitted to the corressponding discipline only mentioned under
column - II (Table - I)

* Candidates (MCA) and M.Sc are required to study some extra courses for pursuing
M.Tech programmes.
ii) One for candidates seeking admission to Master Degree in Pharmacy on the basis
of marks obtained in the on-line test/GATE score/ qualifying examination.
iii) One for candidates seeking admission to Master Degree in Architecture on the
basis of marks obtained in the on-line test/qualifying examination/GATE score.
In addition, separate merit lists will also be drawn for candidates qualifying under
each of the reservation categories. Each successful candidate shall be given a rank.
1.12 Procedure of preparation of the Merit List :
(i) For Non - GATE Candidates : In principle equal weightage (i.e. 50% each) will be
given to the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination and marks
secured in the online test. The Merit list will be prepared based on the total marks
i.e. CGPA x 5 + Marks scured in the Online Test.
(ii) For GATE qualified candidates
The GATE qualified candidates are not required to appear the online test. They will
be awarded 50 marks in lieu of the on-line test. Their admission will be based on
the GATE score.
If required, a common Merit list will be prepared based on the total marks i.e.
CGPA x 5 + 50.
However, the common merit list will be prepared based on total marks as described
above.
2. Categories :
2.1 Orissa State Candidates (S- Category)
For admission to colleges under state category one has to satisfy at least one of the
following three criteria. They will be eligible for admission to Government colleges on
the basis of their merit rank. The S- category candidates under (a) and (c) are to produce
the permanent residence certificate (Annexure-I) to claim any reservation.
a) The candidate must have passed/ appeared Degree examination from any of the
recognised institution in the State.
b) Parents of the candidate must be permanent resident of Orissa. To claim benefit
under this category, a candidate shall furnish at the time of counselling a
permanent residence certificate, in prescribed form (Appendix-I) from a Revenue
Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar of the area where his/her parents have
permanent residence.
c) Sons / daughters / spouse of the permanent employees of Government of Orissa /
Govt. of India/Govt. of Orissa undertakings/Govt. of India undertakings serving in
the State of Orissa at the time of application. To claim the benefits under this
category, candidate has to submit a certificate from the employer of his / her
parents / spouse in the prescribed form (Appendix-II) at the time of counselling.
Reservation of Seats under State Categories :
The reservation of seats in different colleges under various categories will be as per the
policy of the appropriate authority. The percentage of reservation of seats to be
reserved for different categories are subject to change and the decision of the
appropriate authority as on the date of admission will be applicable.
2.1.1. 8% and 12% seats in all colleges are reserved respectively for candidates belonging
to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe by birth (not by marriage or adoption).
Separate merit lists will be drawn up for each reserved category. If eligible
candidates belonging to one reserved category are not available, seats can be
filled up by the candidates belonging to the general category.
2.1.2 Candidates applying for SC/ST reserved category shall furnish SC/ST certificate
from the Tahasildar of the place of birth in Orissa at the time of counselling
in the format given in this brochure in Appendix - III.
NOTE : Scheduled caste/ Scheduled tribe persons who have migrated from their state of
origin to another state for the purpose of seeking education, employment etc., will
be deemed to be scheduled caste/ tribe of the state of their origin and will be entitled
to derive benefits from the state of origin and not from the state to which they have
migrated. (Vide Govt. India Letter No. BC/160 14.1.82 SC & BCD / dated 22nd
Feb,1985). Thus, SC/ST candidates from Orissa who are staying outside the State
have to produce SC/ST certificate from the competent authority of Orissa State during
counselling.
NOTES :
1. ST and SC seat reservations shall apply to the permanent residents / native of Orissa state
only.
2. Seats available under General Category in any course are those available after deduction
of the number of seats pertaining to all the Reserved Categories from the total number of
seats available for that particular course.
3. If a candidate does not report during scheduled hour of counselling, he/she will be treated
as absentee and no seat will be kept reserved for him/her. A candidate failing to report
for counselling will not be permitted to participate in the counselling subsequently under
any circumstances.
4. Seats, if any, remaining vacant in the ST reserved category can be filled in by candidates
belonging to General category. If all the seats belonging to SC reserved category are not
filled up due to non-availability of candidates belonging to SC category, such vacant
seats may be filled up by candidates belonging to General category for the benefit of
students / institutions.
5. Seats reserved under all other category will be filled up by general category candidates in
case the same are not filled up.
In case of any change in the percentage of reservation of seats/reservation criteria
mentioned in the clause above on the basis of guidelines from MHRD/AICTE/Government
of Orissa, it will be intimated through the NOTICE in the website www.bput.org to all the
merit listed candidates. It will also be published in our website and in the notice board at
the counselling venue.
2.2 Non-Resident Indians :(NRI)
NRI means children or wards of a person of Indian origin residing outside
India.The decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.
These category candidates are eligible for admission to private institutions as per their
eligibility criteria.
2.2. Outside state category :
Outside state candidates are not elligible for admission in Government Colleges but
they are eligible for admission in private colleges as per their eligibility criteria.
2.3. Choice of College and Discipline :
Selection for admission will be strictly on the basis of rank.
A candidate failing to report for counselling on the date and time prescribed
will not be given chance subsequently under any circumstances.
3. Admission Rules And Procedure
PGAT refers to the Post Graduate Admission Test for admission to Master Programme
in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy/Architecture in the academic year 2009 -
2010.
3.1. The reservation policy of the appropriate authority given in the brochure for allocation
of seats during counselling will be strictly followed.
3.2. Admission is strictly based on PGAT-2009 merit rank and choice of the candidate
with respect to Institution and course given during the counselling.
3.3. Candidates will be called for counselling as per the schedule to be published in the
website.
3.4. During Counselling all certificates in original will be verified. No further verification
at college level is required. For records of the college, a set of attested copies of the
certificates/marksheet etc. will be collected during counselling and sent to the colleges.
3.5. A candidate selected through the counselling for a course in a college automatically
is admitted as a registered student of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, if the
college is a constituent / affiliated college of the University. The student receives a
Registration number and a University Registration card. Against this Registration
card, a student is automatically admitted as a student into the course and the college
that he/she is assigned during counselling on payment of balance fees at college
level.
Completion of counselling thus completes the admission process except for the
payment of balance fee (if any) at the college level.
3.6. A candidate has to pay Rs.16,000/- through a separate A/c Payee Bank Draft drawn
in favour of “Biju Patnaik University of Technology” on any Nationalised Bank payable
at Bhubaneswar. The balance after deduction of the University fee of Rs.4,400/-
shall be paid to the admitting college for adjustment against the tuition and other
fees payable to the college (for both GATE and Non-GATE candidates).
3.7. A candidate must demand a receipt with the headwise break up of fees that he/she
pays at the college level.
3.8. A candidate once admitted through the counselling to a college forefeits the fee of
Rs.16,000/- paid by him/her, if he/ she later decides not to join the college / course in
the alloted college.
3.9. Candidates are required to download their rank card from our website.
3.10. The counselling process shall start on September 10, 2009 and ends by September
15, 2009. No admission can be done there after.
3.11. No candidate can be admitted to a college on the basis of marks scored in qualifying
examination.
3.12. The class of all streams affiliated to BPUT begins on September 16, 2009.
3.13. A student admitted to a college against a course cannot be transferred to another
course in the same college.
3.14. A student admitted to a college cannot be transferred to another college in same
course or in another course.
4. Minimum Eligibility Criteria :
4.1 For admission to Ist Year Master Degree courses in Engineering/Tech.,
Pharmacy and Architecture:
4.1.1 Engineering / Technology :
GATE qualified with B.Tech/B.E. degree in the respective engineering branches
or in MCA/M.Sc. Computer science (for M.Tech in Computer science /IT branch
only) /M. Sc. Electronics (for M.Tech in Electronics and Communication
Engineering only) M. Sc. Polymer Science and polymer Chemistry (Polymer
specialisation) (M.Tech in Plastic Engg), M. Sc. Polymer Chemistry, M. Sc.
Chemistry, M. Sc. Physics (M.Tech in polymer nano technology) from a recognised
University.
OR
Without GATE but with CGPA 6.75 (in a 10 point scale) or 60% marks in the
respective engineering branches (B.Tech / B.E) or in MCA / M. Sc. Computer
Science (for M. Tech in Computer Science/IT branch only)/ M. Sc. Electronics
(for M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engg. only)/ M. Sc. Polymer Science
and polymer Chemistry (Polymer specialisation) (M.Tech in Plastic Engg), M.
Sc. Polymer Chemistry, M. Sc. Chemistry, M. Sc. Physics (M.Tech in polymer
nano technology) from a recognised university.
4.1.2. Pharmacy :
GATE qualified with B. Pharm from a recognised university.
or
Without GATE but CGPA 5.75 (in a 10 point scale) or 50% marks in B. Pharm
examination from a recognised university.
4.1.3. Architecture :
GATE qualified with B. Arch degree from a recognised university. OR
Without GATE but with CGPA 5.75 (in a 10 point scale) or 50% marks in the B.
Arch examination from a recognised university.
5. Subjects for appearing at PGAT-2009 :
Candidates who do not have the valid GATE score (Non-GATE) for 2009 are required to
appear the online test (i.e. Post Graduate Admission Test). Candidates having valid
GATE score are not required to appear the online test and in lieu they will be
awarded 50 marks for the online test(refer Clause 1.12).
a) All candidates seeking admission to 1st year Master Degree courses in Engineering/
Technology will have to appear the respective courses examination.
b) All candidates seeking admission to 1st year Master Degree courses in Computer
science/Computer science & IT will have to appear examination on Computer science
paper.
c) Candidates seeking admission to 1st year Master Degree in Architecture programme
will have to appear in Architecture test..
d) Candidates seeking admission to M.Pharm. course will have to appear in
Pharmacy.
e) Detailed syllabi are as per BPUT regulations 2004-2008.
6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING POST GRADUATE ADMISSION TEST
APPLICATION FORM
Notes :
a) Read the instructions carefully before filling the application form.
b) Your photograph should be in jpg format (digital) with less than 200KB size. This
should be uploaded in the application in the prescribed space.
c) Please note that your name, your parent’s/guardian’s name, and your date of birth
should exactly be the same as in your High school or your first Board / Pre-University
examination certificate. Any departure, whenever discovered, may lead to
cancellation of your candidature.
d) Your application must be complete in all aspects. Incomplete application or
application filled in a language other than English will be summarily rejected without
any notice.
e) Options filled by you in the application form can not be changed at a later stage.
f) It is suggested that you keep a print out of the acknowledgement form
after submitting the same.
6.1 Name of the Candidate
Enter your name in CAPITAL LETTERS as given in your original certificate of the High
School or equivalent examination. Leave one and only one blank space between any two
words of the name.
6.2 Date of Birth
Enter the date, month and year of your birth as per the English calendar and as recorded
in your School/ Board/Pre-University examination certificate. Use numerals 01 to 31 for
DATE, abbreviations JAN, FEB etc. for MONTH, and the last two digits of the YEAR of
birth. For example, if born on 23rd JANUARY 1988 the date should be entered as follows
: 23 JAN 88. Click the appropriate figures in each column.
6.3 Name of one Parent / Gurdian
Enter the name of one of your parent or guardian exactly as in your 10th class or equivalent
certificate, if given. Write the name of your father if no name is given in the 10th
certificate. Within any word of the name, do not leave any blank box. Leave one and
only one blank box between any two words of the name.
6.4 Category
Refer Clause No. 2 of this brochure for ascertaining the category to which you belong.
[State (for Orissa Candidates), NRI - Non-Resident Indians, Outside State (for Outside
Orissa Candidates)]. Choose/click the approapriate category.
6.5 Reservation
Candidates belonging to S-Category (eligible to claim reservation as per Clause 2.1)
and seeking admission under reservation in any of the followings are to choose/click
the appropriate reservation category.

6.9 Branch of Study in Qualifying Examination
Choose/click your baranch or course of study in the qualifying examination (refer column
I of table I).
6.10 Year of Passing the Qualifying Examination
(i) Those who have already passed B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Pharm or an equivalent qualifying
examination should indicate the year of passing and click the appropriate year.
(ii) Those who are appearing for their qualifying examination in 2009 should click 2009.
NOTE:Results (Grade sheets and Provisional Certificate) of qualifying examination
has to be produced on the day of verification of documents. Without the final
result of the qualifying examination, a candidate is not eligible to appear the
onliine test and participate in the counselling.
6.11 CGPA / Percentage of Marks
(i) Enter the actual CGPA (cumulative grade point average) (10 point scale) obtained in the
B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Pharm or an equivalent qualifying examination if the results are
available. Otherwise leave it blank. Enter the CGPA upto second decimal point. For
example 7.15 be entered as 7.15 only. Enter the figures appropriately.
(ii) If CGPA is not available, then enter the actual percentage of aggregate marks obtained

6.15 Photograph

be uploaded in the online application form in the prescribed space.
6.16 Complete Mailing Address :
Enter the complete postal address to which any communication, if required, is to be
sent till Septemeber 2009. The address must include your name, C/o name if required,
and other details including the PINCODE for the mail to reach you. Indicate phone number,
if any, with STD code.

Enter your phone number, if there is any, with STD code, on which you can be contacted

6.21 Teachers Registration Number
If you are working as a teacher in any of the BPUT Affiliated/constituent Colleges then enter
your Teachers’ Registration Number. Any suppression of facts may led to cancellation of
the studentship.
6.22 Parent’s /Guardian’s Total Annual Income
Enter the total annual income of your parent / guardian. Candidates, opting for scholarship,
are required to produce the income certificate issued by the Tahasildar/competent
authorities as and when required.
6.23 Declaration by the Candidate
A declaration is to be given by the candidate that all the particulars given in the application
are true to the best of his/her knowledge and belief. In the event of suppression or
distortion of any fact like suppressing like category or educational qualifications or
nationality etc. made in the application form, his/her admission/if acquired degree is
liable for cancellation. He/she has to abide by the decision of the PGAT committee. He/
she has to abide by the rules and norms of the institute where she/he would be admitted.
6.24 Submission of the On-line Form
The candidate should ensure that the information entered/filled out are correct. If not,
this could be corrected/updated before clicking the SUBMIT button. Once you ensured
that the information are correct, then click the SUBMIT button.
6.25 Acknowledgement card
After clicking the SUBMIT button on the on-line application form, an acknowledgement
card will be autometically generated and displayed on the screen indicating candidate’s
name, category, reservation, registration number and course applied for etc. This ensure
registration of candidate’s for PGAT-2009. Then take a print out of this by clicking the
print option and this is required at the time of verification/counselling.
6.26 ADMIT CARDS :
Admit Cards will be downloaded from the website. In case he/she will not find it from
our website, then the candidate may contact the PGAT cell indicating the nine digit
Registration number.
7.0 Rules for Admission Test :
i) The Post Graduate Admission Test will be held as per the scheduled date and time to be
notified in our website.
ii) The medium of examination is English.
iii) The examination hall shall be opened to the candidates half an hour before the
examination commences. No candidate will be allowed to enter in the examination hall
without a valid original / duplicate admit card.
iv) Candidates are required to take their respective seats at least 15 minutes before the
commencement of the examination, strictly according to the sitting chart notified earlier
by the Centre Superintendent.
v) In no case a candidate be allowed to enter the examination hall after the examination
starts.
vi) Attendance will be taken by the invigilators on the Attendance Roll sheets provided with
full signature of candidates against their Registration Numbers, fifteen minutes before
the commencement of examination. The online examination will be conducted and
instructions will be given prior to the commencement of the examination.
vii) No candidate shall be allowed to leave the hall temporarily during the examination.
viii) Candidates suffering from any disease which renders their presence in the examination
hall undesirable in the interest of other candidates will not ordinarily be allowed to enter
the examination hall. Candidates are not allowed to have substitute writer.
ix) Candidates should bring their own black / blue ball pens. Books, printed papers (other
than their Admit Cards) , manuscripts, or electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, cell
phones and electronic diary calculators etc, should not be taken into the examination
hall.
x) Candidates are not permitted to talk to each other in the examination hall. No one
should receive any help from or assist another in any manner. Malpractice of any form
detected during or after the examination would entail not only cancellation of candidature
but also more severe punishment as deemed fit by the PGAT committee.
xi) A candidate wishing to say anything should stand up in his/her seat and remain standing
until the invigilator attends to him/her. He/she should on no account leave the seat or
make any noise to draw the invigilator’s attention.
xii) In any other matter not provided in these rules, the Centre Superintendent is empowered
to take necessary decisions.
7.1 Examination Procedure / Valuation methodology :
There will be multiple choice type question (except some of the questions for aptitude
test for Architecture). The number of questions will be twentyfive (25) per each subject
of examination of duration 30 minutes. Each question shall have four/five answers
(including one or more correct answer(s)) and the examinee shall have to click (select)
only the appropriate checkbox (which he/she considers most correct). Each correct answer
shall fetch two marks whereas each incorrect / unattempted answer will fetch zero.
Required information for the online test would be given in the examination hall.
8.0 Procedure for seat allocation
The distribution of seats is as follows:
(i) 15% seats will be reserved for NRI. If seats remaining vacant, then this will be
transferred to the General Category.
(ii) 12% seats will be reserved for ST category (GATE and Non - GATE State candidates
taken together).
(iii) 8% seats will be reserved for SC category (GATE and Non - GATE State candidates
taken together)
(iv) From the residual seats (after deducting i, ii, and iii) 70% seats will be reserved for
GATE candidates and 30% seats for Non - GATE candidates.
(v) Within GATE quota seats, 85% seats will be reserved for State candidates and 15%
seats will be reserved for Outside state candidates.

(vi) Within Non - GATE quota seats, 85% seats will be reserved for State candidates
and 15% stats will be reserved for outside state candidates.
(vii) The vacant seats, after ST & SC category admission, will be transferred to State
category candidates.
(viii) The seats remaining vacant, after GATE candidates admission, will be transferrred
to respective Non - GATE category (State / Outside State).

9.0 Counselling information


The schedule of counselling and detail of counselling will be notified through
our website www.bput.org.

10.0 No objection Certificate


Candidates from Government/Private institutions are required to submit “No Objection
Certificate” from their employer at the time of verification of certificates. Any suppression
of facts may led to cancellation of studentship.

11.0 If any matter not provided under these rules, the Post Graduate Admission Committee is
empowered to take necessary decisions.
