Universal Design for Learning (UDL): To extend the lesson to meet UDL principles I could have students take
pictures of the things that helped them release stress for a week. Then student input those pictures into the
adobe spark presentation. After creating their spark students will still present their presentation to the class,
to give other ideas of stress relievers.

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will be creating an Adobe Spark presentation of 4 methods they use to release stress. Students will
think of the 4 methods, then create slides with pictures of the methods and minimal text describing how and
why the method helps them. Students will be able to use google images or the free images provided by
Adobe to help the complete their assignment. Voice overs will be optional for this assignment. If a student
does not use a voice over, they will be required to speak in front of the class. While others are presenting
students will write down 3 methods learned from their peers that they would like to try. I will introduce the
project by showing students a completed version of my methods of how I release stress. The project should
take about one class period to complete (55 min). I will assess student learning by having them present their
presentation to the class and explain why each particular method works for them.

The finial products will get students thinking of ways they already release stress and provide them with new
methods as well. To extend the lesson further I will have students analyze their methods and rank them in
order of effectiveness. Each ranking will be accompanied by a short discretion of why it works and how it
could be better. To conclude the lesson, I will address the class and mention some of the many methods
introduced by their classmates and myself. I will reinforce to my students that there is no one correct answer
to stress management, and it is unique to each of us. The important thing is that you have an effective plan
that will help get you through some tough times. I will provide group feedback when students are presenting
and will provide individual feedback when I grade the assignments.

Reflective Practice:
I think the assignment will impact student’s positivity because some may never have thought of the ways they
deal with stress. Others may have thought of it but don’t have a good method for them. When thinking of
theirs and listening to others, students will leave the class with a multitude of methods to help deal with
stress. To extend the lesson further students can use their phones to take real world pictures of themselves
using one of the new methods they choose as ones they wanted to try. Then report back to class, show the
pictures and explain if that method worked for them or not.
