CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Contents of this part of the proposal should briefly discuss how and why the
proposal was conceived. Initial paragraphs may contain an introduction for the study. This
section may also include discussions of the proponent’s intentions why they are creating
the proposed system as well as their expectations for this proposal.

Statement of the Problem

This study will seek to develop and evaluate ….

Specifically, it will seek answers to the following:

1) What are the methods of information dissemination used by the University
Alumni Office?
2) What are the problems encountered in the existing methods of information
dissemination used by the University Alumni Office?
3) What are the features of the proposed Web Portal of the University Alumni
Office that will address the problems encountered in the existing methods of
information dissemination?
4) What is the extent of compliance of the developed system in terms of ISO
25010 standard?

Objectives of the Study

The following are the objectives of the study:
1. To identify the methods of information dissemination used by University
Alumni Office;
2. To identify the problems encountered in the existing methods of
information dissemination;
3. To identify and develop the features of the proposed system and to
address the problems encountered in the existing methods of information
dissemination.
4. To assess the system in terms of ISO compliance.

Significance of the Study

The result of this study would benefit the following target entities:

Scope and Limitations

The scope of this study is the development and evaluation of ….

Definition of Terms
The following terms are defined according to the context on how they were used
in this study:

Chapter 3
METHODS AND PROCEDURES
This chapter presents the software development methodology that will be used in
this study. It also elaborates the existing and proposed systems. Sources of data, data
gathering tools, requirement specification, and system requirements are also included.

Research Design
This study will use the Dynamic System Development Methodology (DSDM) as one of
the AGILE systems development tools in the design and development of…..

Software Development Methodology

The software development will be aligned to the DSDM framework. The different
phases of the framework are the following:

----

This study will implement the V-Model of software development as part of its
methodology. This method is suitable for this study because it involves the end users in all aspects
of the system design and is also highly recommended for moderate to complex software
development requirements (Forsberg & Mooz, 2015).

Research Participants
The main participants of this are the clients and the personnel in the accounting
department who are primarily involve in the system process.

Data Gathering Tools

The researchers will obtain the permission of all the research participants. The research
participants will be informed of the research subject and then formally invited to participate.
Protocol and procedures will be observed. Data are collected using the following: (brief description
of the ff:)

Interview Method.
Bibliotic Research.
Office Observation.
Survey Questionnaire.

The discussion is aligned in the IPO of the existing system

Problems Encountered in the Existing System

Problems inherent to the existing methods of information dissemination
are as follows.
Loss of information.
Absence of Participants
Unavailability of disseminated information.
Transportation issues
Communication Delay.
No exclusive web portal.
