Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Microsoft PowerPoint supports UDL in the following way:
 The students can choose which font and font size they want to use. Students with vision impairment
can chose a font that works for them. It is important to offer students multiple means of
representation. Microsoft PowerPoint allows students alternatives for visual information by allowing
them to alter the font size.

Lesson idea implementation:

The teacher will introduce colors to her students. The teacher will show the students different colors and
have them name what color they see. The teacher will then play the video that she had made on PowerPoint
about colors. The teacher will then introduce the activity to her students. She will tell her students that they
will be making a class wide video about colors. Each student table group will get a color and they will have to
go find images of that color. Once each group has their photos the teacher will show the students how to
insert it into a class wide google slides document. Google slides is collaborative and can be worked on by
every student at the same time. Once every group has uploaded their slides the teacher will invite each group
up one by one to record their slides. Once every group has recorded their slides the teacher will publish the
video and play it for the kids. At the end of this lesson the students will know how to create a video on Google
Slides and how to compare and mix colors.

Reflective Practice: A way to extend this activity would be to post the video on the classroom website or to
share them with the parents. You could challenge the students in your class to try and create their own video
at home about mixing colors and then have the students share it on the class website or have their parents
email to the teacher.
