President’s speaks……….

As per Rotary International calendar the month of December 2018 is

designated as month of disease prevention and treatment month. Accordingly
with due persuasion with Burdwan Municipality and in association with one
regd. Club named as Annapurna Sangha situated in the outskirt of the
Burdwan town at Kanchannagar ward no. 24 of Burdwan Municipality one
health check up camp was organized and the eminent doctor of NUHM
Burdwan Municipality and attended 103 nos. patient. The patient were also
thoroughly checked up and attending doctor prescribed medicine which were
also distributed free of cost under National Urban Health Mission, Burdwan
Municipality. Our club thankfully convey our gratitude to the secretary of
Annapurna Sangha and also to Mr. M R Mallick, Administrator, Burdwan
Municpal Health Centre & Nodal Officer, National Urban Health Mission,
Burdwan Municipality for his valued support to make the endeavor to a great
success.

It has also planned that in the month of February and March 2019 two
successive health camp will be organized with assistance of NUHM, Burdwan
Municipality particularly for Cancer awareness programme which is the
burning issue of the day where the club will present eminent specialist on
oncology to grow awareness amongst the women residing at the outskirt of
Burdwan Town. Besides above our club has also participated in no. of
programs like attending in the Zonal Cricket Tournament organized amongst
Zone 3 Rotary clubs. We have also deputed two members in RLI I & II program
being a district event on 8 th & 9th December 2018 with a view to update our
existing member with for the purpose of gaining knowledge about Rotary rules
& regulation for their preparedness for taking up key post of the Rotary Club in
the days to come.

After protracted discussion the Club have also announced new board for the
Rotary Year 2019-2020 under the president nominee Rtn. Amit Bhutoria .
Thus it may be stated that all the members were engaged in rendering their
services in the various activities of the club during the month of December
2018.

CLUB ACTIVITIES FOR THE MONTH OF December 2018:-

1. On 8th December the Ag of Zone-3 convened a meeting as was arranged

by our club regarding participating in Zonal Cricket Tournament and
also to check the list of participant of respective clubs who will be
participating in the 29th Dist. Conference to be held at Malda between 4-6
Jan 2019.

2. On 4th, 11th , 18th & 25th Club genl. Weekly meetings were held where the
various issues were discussed.

3. On 8th & 9th Dec. RLI meeting held . Rotary Club of Burdwan organized
the Dist. Event by conducting RLI part-I & II to update the knowledge of
the Rotarians who have not joined earlier in RLI program. We have
deputed our two members Rtn. Dr. Kanchan Kanti Garai & Rtn Harshad
Seth to attend the meeting. We have been informed by attending
members that the training program Was very useful to them.

4. Formation of new Board for RY 2019-2020:- After prolonged discussion

with individual discussion forth coming president Rtn. Amit Bhutoria
declared new Board for RY 2019-2020 comprising of 21 members
 assigned with various responsibilities to administer the club and With
due persuasion Rtn. Dr. Kanchan Kanti Garai have accepted the
proposal to take up the post of president elect for 2020-2021.

5. On 25th December club meeting was held , the club observed Christmas
Day and details of our participation of 29 th dist conference was
discussed. It was also confirmed that 100% registration are being made
by our club for which the pending delegation fees from 6 members are in
the process of collection for which Rtn Anit Gupta has taken initiative.
The club also decided to have the status of 100% PHF club. Rtn. Partha
Sarkar being a major donor and Rtn. Dr. Mainak Mukherjee have also
consented to share their matching points to some members for obtaining
PHF status. The Club extended thanks to them for their valued offer for
the interest of the club to get the status of 100% PHF Club.

6. No. of other projects have also being taken up which are expected to
implemented in due course with sincere efforts, valued guidance of all
Rotarian of our club.
