The Reading Journey Passion Project guidelines include, but may not be limited to the below
student learning target criteria for the artifact, script, and oral presentation:
❏ A designed artifact that reflects and symbolizes your Reading Journey road map to
include:
❏ Each grade level or year of your reading journey (kinder, first grade, second
grade, etc)
❏ A memorable book that you read at the reflected grade or time period
❏ A short descriptive paragraph that explains the book and memories associated
with this text
❏ The title and author of each book displayed on your reading journey artifact
❏ A visual representation of each book displayed on your reading journey artifact
❏ A 0-5 star rating for each book displayed on your reading journey artifact
❏ Evidence of creativity to highlight your reading journey such as:
❏ A logical sequencing of your readings (for ex: organize the information in
a systematic way using sequential (grade) or chronological (by date) text
structure
❏ Appropriate language conventions (proper capitalization, word usage,
punctuation, spelling, and sentence structures)
❏ A script that will summarize your overall reading journey and its impact on you as a
reader
❏ Write a one-page essay describing the books represented on your selected
artifact
❏ Explain why this book is memorable to you (for ex: include important characters,
and/or events within the book)
❏ A formative presentation capturing your personal reading journey
❏ Prepare an oral or video presentation for your audience
