In line with our Purposeful Contemporary design style, the new uniform design
embodies the “Stay Ready” service style and helps our hotel colleagues deliver
the brand promise of “Simple, Smart Travel” to our guests. Our hotel employees
– our brand ambassadors – and what they wear is critical in delivering the
guest experience. By taking pride in their uniform, they create a professional
image for the Holiday Inn Express® brand and bring to life our brand character
and personality.

This document help creates a unified visual style for consistency across AMEA.

UNIFORM BRAND STANDARDS
All Holiday Inn Express® hotels in AMEA must adhere to the uniform design and guidelines provided in this
document. If there are any reasons for deviations from these standards, hotels are required to obtain approval
from the AMEA Holiday Inn Express® Brand Team.

GARMENT CARE
To keep your uniforms smart, they must be cared for properly. Uniforms should be stored with enough room for
them to hang freely. They should be protected from creasing, dust and moths. Hang them on a hanger as soon as
you take them off and fasten zips and buttons to help them keep their shape. Check clothes for stains and
remove them as soon as possible.

SPOT OR STAIN REMOVAL


Alcohol or Food Use soda water. Place a towel under the stained area. Fizz soda and rub in towards the centre of the spot.
Blood Blot with concentrated common starch paste and rinse from the inner side with mild soapy water.
Butter Sponge dry with cleaning fluid.
Chewing Gum Scrape and sponge with dry cleaning fluid.
Chocolate Sponge with mild soapy water.
Coffee and Tea Sponge with glycerine. If none available, use warm water.
Egg Scrape and sponge with soapy water.
Glue Sponge with methylated spirits.
Grease, Tar, Car Oil Sponge with dry cleaning fluid.
Ink Immerse in cold water.
Iodine Treat with cool water, followed by methylated spirits.
Iron Rust Sponge with a weak solution of oxalic acid until stain disappears then sponge carefully with diluted
household ammonia and rinse with water.
Lipstick Rub white bread over the area with a firm but gentle motion.
Mud Once dry, brush off and sponge from the inner side with soapy water.
Wine Immerse in cold water.

GARMENT CARE
WASHING
• Blouses and shirts should be washed regularly, preferably after every wear. All garments should be washed frequently following
the care instructions indicated on the label. Heavily soiled clothes should be washed separately.
• Dark and bright colours should always be washed separately from whites.
• Most synthetics can be warm air tumble-dried. Cotton can also be tumble-dried and pressed when slightly damp.
If tumble-dried to a completely dry state, cotton will shrink.
• Bright coloured cottons may fade with repeated washing.

IRONING
The order of ironing:
1. Iron at setting specified on care label.
2. Iron all doubled and thick parts on the wrong side.
3. Iron all seams on the wrong side.
4. Embroidery should be ironed on the wrong side pressed on to a pad.
5. Iron all small parts: collars, cuffs, etc.
6. Iron the main part of the garment.
7. Iron until all the moisture is gone, otherwise the article will crease when it finally dries.
8. Fold according to garment or hang on hangers.
9. Air before storing.

Grooming is essential as hotel employees’ appearance contributes to Holiday Inn Express®
distinctive style. All colleagues must present themselves for work in a clean, tidy and professional
manner. All hotel employees are required to follow these standards at all times.

• socks must be black and ankle length or low-cut
