DESCRIPTION
WATER GUARD 45 is a heavy duty acrylic base waterproof coating which when mixed with
cement forms a durable and highly water-resistant matrix to give 100% waterproof surface.
WATER GUARD 45 has excellent flexibility and bonding with concrete, breathing properties,
water resistance, crack bridging properties, weathering durability. It provides a strong
bonding coat to protect & repair RCC structures.

AREAS OF APPLICATION
 Foundations, basements & lift pits
 Terrace Gardens
 Sunk portion of bathrooms, toilets, balconies, etc.

 Bonds strongly on cement concrete, cement plastered applied surfaces.
 Improves waterproofing properties when mixed with cement.
 Can be applied in moist conditions e.g: exteriors, terraces and chajjas in wet spells of
monsoon, Underground and/ or overhead water tanks almost immediately after
emptying.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Waterproofing
Surface preparation
 Clean the surface with wire brush or scrubber to remove hidden dirt, loose particles,
laitance & dust. Degrease the surface by using suitable solvents.
 Repair the spalled concrete portion by saw, cutting the extreme edges of the repair
location to a depth of at least 10 mm to avoid feather edging & to provide strong bond.
 Clean the concrete surface to remove any contamination where breaking is not possible.
Roughen the surface by light scrabbling or grit blasting.
 For priming of concrete substrate, the surface should be thoroughly saturated
with Potable water.
 Remove any excess water prior to application.
 As a Waterproofing Coating
 For a waterproofing coating Mix WATER GUARD 45 : Cement in the ratio 1:1 by
volume
 Mix for 2-3 minutes to avoid air entrapment. Keep on slowly adding cement to
WATERGUARD 45 until the required consistency is achieved
 Brush apply 2 coats of the mix in a duration of 4-6 hours on the prepared concrete
substrate
 Cover the coating with a protective screed to the desired slope & thickness

 Chemical Base: Acrylic copolymer with Special Additives
 Density: 1.35 kg/ltr (at +27°C)
 Solid Content: 48%
 Crack Bridging Ability > 1.5 mm
 System Film Thickness: DFT one coat including primer: 60 - 70 microns Minimum two
coats recommended for optimum performance
 Total system thickness (DFT) = 110- 115 microns (primer with two coats).
 Applied by paint roller.

COVERAGE
As a waterproofing coating: 30-35 sq.ft./ kg in 2 coats

PACKING
5 kgs., 20 kgs.

SHELF LIFE
12 months in original packing if stored at room temperature i.e.25°C
