1. What is a human right- based approach to science, technology, and development?

Answer:

“Well, based on what we have read and comprehends. It is all about the safety and
protection of human person because it will ensure that we are all prepared or ready for facing the
big innovations and development of science, technology and society and aside from that, it will
help us to know the importance of human rights.

2. How do the documents and their key principle presented in Table 2 position human rights in
the intersection of technology and humanity.

Answer:

Based on what we understand, they presented the documents and the key principle is by
listing some or the most important documents that center on human right based approach and
when it comes in those key principles, they presented it by disseminating the proposed ideas or
some article.

3. Why should human rights be at the core of scientific and technological advancement?

Answer:

Well it just because we believe that the human right is an essential part of human and it is
important that the said right and the core of scientific and the technological advancement has a
connection and interaction to each other.

4. Do you agree with Mukhejeer' assertion that the human rights- based approach to science
technology and development can from the very heart of sustainable futures? Explain.

Answer:

Yes because we believed that the science technology and society truly leads for a better
and sustainable future because it provide us a lot of opportunities and it also show and prove to
us that the Science, technology and society can change the world by its development and
innovations.

Answer: The Declaration on the use of Scientific and Technological Progress in the Interest of
Peace and for the benefit on Mankind is concerning on the possible abusive use of science
contrary to the human rights. It is said that the scientific and technological achievement could
affect human in two ways. The first one is the positive which it could develop and improve the
nation and people’ s condition while the negative side is it will cause social problems or
threatened the human rights and the freedom of people.

2. Who are the parties/ signatures to the instrument?

Answer: It was proclaimed in the General assembly resolution under 3384(XXX) November 10,
1975.

3. What article/s or section/s of the instrument articulate the centrality of human rights vis- a- Vis
science, technology and development?

Answer: There are nine article that proclaimed in this instrument but the Article 7 is the
centrality of human right. In the article 7 it is said that ," All States shall take the necessary
measures, including legislative measures, to ensure that the utilization of scientific and
technological achievements promotes the fullest realization of human rights and fundamental
freedoms without any discrimination whatsoever on grounds of race, sex, language or religious
beliefs."

4. How does the instrument safeguard human rights in the face of science and technology?

Answer: By promoting and using the article accurately. We can use it as an instrument and lead
us to become literate on how to use the science and technology without hurting some culture and
beliefs or respect the human rights and the dignity of the human person in the conditions of
scientific and technological progress.

5. What challenges stand in the way of the instrument and its key principle in safeguarding
human rights amidst the changing scientific and technological concept?

Answer: This challenge/s are the misconception or the misuse of the science and technology
which leads to unrespect full way that threatened the human rights and lack the freedom to those
who have different sex, races and cultures or beliefs. The key principle is to follow the articles
that proclaimed together with the law and legal basis, respect human race, and be aware that the
transfer of science and technology is accelerating the economic development and the
development of the country.

The ethical dilemmas of robotics

1. What are the ethical dilemmas posed by robotics?


Answer: How far can the robots do? Robots are a machine like which is controlled by human.
They have different use like in the industry and other social interaction, but in our generation,
many of this instrument are using extensively and abusing it. Different kinds of this machine are
staying in the house helping and cleaning also, the robotic toys are extremely increasing and very
popular to the children. As the goes by, these robotic machines are become more intelligent that
is really to handle. So it will harder to human to decide who is the responsible if their injured
someone and it may become wild and cause a tremendous effect to the users and the inventors.

2. Which among the instrument for a human right based approach to science and development
discuss may be useful in contending with the ethical dilemmas of robotics?

Answer: Because of the extremely intelligence of robots in 1940 Isaac Asimov formulate the
"three laws of robotics". Which seems like a good way for protecting human from harming and
making the robot safe but it is hard to program following these laws because it is more likely
following the ethical rules which only the true human can perform.

3. How can the instrument inform lawyers and ethicists and engineers and scientists in answering
the moral and legal questioned raised by the development in robotics.

Answer: As the technology, progressing fast, many innovations and upgrading are being raised
in the system of robots. They applied and performed the field of emotional robotics where in the
robots are recognize the human emotion and expression and to engage in behavior that human
really perceived as emotional. However, answering the moral and legal question are not enough
and have a lack of intelligence. Maybe if it answered without holes, ethicists and lawyer will
have work closely together with engineers and scientists developing the technology. In addition,
that, of course, will be a challenged in itself.

We thought that it is all about the big revelation of technology those things that could

However, after reading the article, I know think/ learned that

Since the technology is continually develop, I can say that there is a big possibility that
one day we will awake and see that everything around us are robots, nanotechnology and
artificial intelligent

Well, the most significant scene in the movie that, we think will support our
argument is when the real son of Monica was fully proved from illness, and the Robot
( David) was taken for granted of Monica because his real son will need a love and
attention that’s why she decided to take care and focus from his son. However, we can
say that our future need us like the particular scene that I have gave the main purpose on
why David cheated it is just only to fulfill her desolation from his son. Therefore, if you
