This standard has been published in accordance with a decision taken by CEN/TC 193 to adopt, without
alteration, International Standard ISO 9142 as a European Standard.
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Materialprüfung
(Materials Testing Standards Committee), Technical Committee Prüfung von Konstruktionsklebstoffen,
-klebverbindungen und Kernverbunden.

Foreword
International Standard
ISO 9142 : 2003 Adhesives – Guide to the selection of standard laboratory ageing conditions for testing
bonded joints,
which was prepared by ISO/TC 61 ‘Plastics’ of the International Organization for Standardization, has been
adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 193 ‘Adhesives’, the Secretariat of which is held by AENOR, as a
European Standard.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, and conflicting national standards withdrawn, by June 2004 at the latest.
In accordance with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the follow-
ing countries are bound to implement this European Standard:
Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland,
Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the
United Kingdom.
