Topic I: What advantages can schools for the gifted offer to their students and to the society ?

Introduction: Recently, there has been a bitter controversy over the pros and cons of high school for the gifted. Many
Vietnamese educators argue that this system should be done away with since it promotes nothing but toxic competition
and puts inessential pressure on students. However, from my point of view, schools for gifted students are
advantageous to not only their students but also the society.
Body:
-Advantage number 1: Provide a better educational environment than regular high schools do.
+ Well-qualified teachers, excellent students
+ Many available scholarships and financial aid to assist students
+Good facilities, many opportunities -> Develop students’ competence
+Extracurricular activities -> Train students’ social skills, put their mind at ease after stressful schooling, eradicate the
belief that gifted students are merely bookworms, not knowing how to socialize with others.
 Encourage students to study industriously and gain more achievements which are good for their future.
-Advantage number 2: There are hardly social evils such as bullying
Why ? Almost every gifted student have high self-awareness and make sense of how to treat their mates in the most
polite way -> Wherever has respect and politeness, there are no bullying or harassment.
Parents do not need to worry about their children’s school life
Students don’t get damaged or get exposed to any social evils.
-Advantage number 3: Educate good students who may make a significant contribution to the development of the
society in many fields (economy, culture, science, education,…)
Why? High schools for gifted focus on instructing their students intensive knowledge in a specific subject such as
Math, Physics,.. , so they can be experts to serve the nation better.
Conclusion: High schools for the gifted are extremely beneficial in many aspects. Therefore, this system should be
maintained and developed.

Topic II : Moral life differs from secondary school and high school students?

Introduction: Secondary school and High school are distinct educational environments. Therefore, the moral life of high
school students is also different from that of secondary school ones.
Body:
-Difference number 1: High school students have a moral obligation to study harder than secondary school students
Why?: +They are snowed under with more significant examinations as they are going to enter universities
+Almost every subject is more difficult and requires to analyze, think and practice in earnest
+Need more time to absorb knowledge and go to more extra classes to prepare for the exams
+ More assignment to finish.
-Difference number 2: More discipline are given to high school students than to secondary school students
Why?: +They are about to be adults and they need to be more disciplined to manage with dilemmas in real life.
+Help them not to be in disorder in the final school years
+Provide them with the assistance in focusing on gaining knowledge for the significant university entrance
examination.
-Difference number 3: High school students need to be more mature and responsible
Why?: +They have already grown up and no longer kids like secondary students
+ They are going to make decisions on how to turn over a new leaf as an adults
+ They ought to be aware wrong doings and good doings for their future.
Conclusion: These differences between moral life of high school and secondary school students prove that high school
and secondary school are two distinct environment so we need to make enormous effort to adapt.
Topic III: Most high level jobs are done by men. Should the government encourage a certain percentage of these jobs
to be reserved for women. Write a passage about 200-250 to justify your answer.
Introduction: Recently, there has been a bitter controversy over a statement that if a percentage of high level jobs
should be encouraged to be reserved for women by the government since most of them are occupied by men. In my
point of view, it ought not to be conducted due to these following reasons.
Body: -Reason number 1: The main factor which leads to the efficiency in high level jobs is the competence but not
the gender.
->If there are not enough women who can work effectively in a specific field, it will then suffer from a crisis of lacking
good workers.
->It can be unfair to men since they might have had the same ability as women or even better.
Example: It is discovered that men are usually more productive than women in high level jobs requiring intelligence,
knowledge and skills.
-Reason number 2: High level jobs require a lot of time to accomplish a massive amount of work, which is not
suitable for women because they still have to spend time taking care of their family.
-> It may be difficult for them to keep a balance between work and family
->They do not want to promote to higher positions because they think it might take up a considerable amount of time
which they use to look after their family.
Example: Lots of women give up their jobs or divorce every year because they do not have the capability of solving
every issue from one of these two places (office and home)
- Reason number 3: Men may have objection to women dominating some high level jobs since gender equality is
encouraged at work.
-> High level jobs should be distributed equally to both men and women to avoid conflicts
Example: In offices, men and women had better collaborate and work together so that they will gain more success in
the projects.
Conclusion: Reserving some high level jobs for women is not really necessary. Instead, the government would be better
off changing people’s mindset that who are competent and deserve to be at the top, will earn it and be appropriately
appointed in high level jobs.

examples to support your ideas.
Introduction: Life is becoming more and more convenient due to many positive changes. One of the remarkable is the
easy preparation of food. In my opinion, it has made a significant contribution to improve the way people live

-Reason number 2: It is easier to get exposed to the culture of other countries by food
-> Foreign dishes can be made at home with the assistance of online recipes
-> A wide range of ingredients which are easily found in any food stall.
Example: You can enjoy French atmosphere with a French dish though you’re now staying at home.
 People needn’t pay too much money for these dishes in the restaurants since they are capable of doing it
themselves.

->The modern technology of producing food allows combine many ingredients and healthy spices to ensure that
food is not only tasty but also nourishing.
