Sociology Major
This degree tracker is designed to serve as a guideline to complete a Bachelor of Arts in 4 years. It is your
responsibility to ensure that you are registered for the appropriate courses and have the required prerequisites.

A Bachelor of Arts degree requires the successful completion of 120 credit hours of courses as outlined in the
Academic Calendar. This degree tracker has been prepared to guide you in your pursuit of a 36 Credit Hour major
and 24 Credit Hour minor. If you choose to complete a double major or an Honours program you should
substitute electives for additional courses required for the second Major or Honours program.

If you are following BA Core Regulations prior to 2015/16 Calendar regulations please consult with previous Calendars or with an

In the case of departmental regulations for a major or minor, a student will normally follow regulations in effect in the academic year
in which the student first completes a course in that subject at the 2000 level or above which may be applied to the major or minor
program respectively. However, the student may elect to follow subsequent regulations introduced during the student's tenure in a
program.

Business and Music (Musicologies and Music Theory
and Composition only). A student may include as open
electives up to 15 of these 42 credit hours in any subject
area, with the exception of courses which are clearly
practical or professional.

NOTE: 78 of the 120 required credit hours for a B.A. must be from disciplines within the Faculty of Arts
