ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
SRM IST is one of the top ranking universities in India with over 40,000

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Chemical Engineering, SRM IST has been
engaged in opening up the fascinating world of Chemical
Engineering to students since its inception. The Department is
offering B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering), M.Tech. (Chemical
Engineering) and Ph.D programs. It has 22 faculty members whose
areas of expertise and research include Proteomics, Process
development, Microuidics, Biomass utilization, Computational
Fluid Dynamics, Nanobiotechnology and Industrial wastewater
treatment. The faculty members of the department contribute to
academia by publishing research articles in high- impact peer-
reviewed journals, publishing books, presenting papers in the
international and national conferences, delivering guest lectures and
organizing national seminars. The department has a chemical
engineering association, which conducts student level technical
symposium and also arranges technical lectures by eminent
persons from industry. The research work in the department of
chemical engineering includes domain related to Biofuels / Waste
Water Engineering / Microuidics for environmental and biomedical
applications / Fluid-Solid Interaction / Computational Fluid
Dynamics.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this conference is to provide a platform for
constructive ideas on recent trends and innovative approaches in
efcient use of technologies towards pollution prevention and
control. This conference is a forum to explore issues of mutual
concern as well as exchange knowledge, share evidence and ideas,
and generate solutions. The conference is all about promoting global
