• ATA 300 Category 1

What is the Spec?
• ATA 300
1. Re-useable (Cat I = 100 trips, Cat II = 10 trips, Cat III = 1 trip) &
repairable
2. Laminated Panels Construction
• Cabinet grade plywood
• ABS or Fiberglass outer layer laminated on (done in house or purchased that
way)
3. Recessed Hardware
4. Rounded edges that are rust resistant (Zinc, Nickel or Chrome
plated)
5. Foam lining (PU or PE)
6. Test requirements (Drop, vibration, spray, etc...)
• Requirements vary depending on Category and weight.

Testing?
• ATA lists (many) test requirements.
• ATA does not certify or approve anyone’s containers.
• “Respectable” manufacturers build cases that comply with
material requirements and then have them tested to the
appropriate standards.
• Independent labs then issued Certificate of “ATA Approved”
• According to some sources, no body issues these certs
anymore.
• Case Tech had their “heavy duty” construction ATA style case
tested at an ISTA lab long ago and it passed.
