Animal Greetings From The UK

Everyedition 2019 no ISBN Acqn 30249
Hb 23x30cm 84pp col ills £33.75

Alberto Vieceli's penchant for postcard collecting even extends to vintage postcards from the
United Kingdom. This book takes a genre that most people were probably unaware existed as its
subject: animal greetings. Each postcard features a cute photograph of one or more animals at its
centre - dogs or puppies, cats or kittens - ringed by pictures of the place from which the greetings
were sent and a prominent message saying good luck, well wishes, thinking of you, or a similar
such greeting intended for the recipient. It seems a particularly British brand of kitsch, yet also
oddly endearing, because who wouldn't want to find a wee Scotty wearing a kerchief in their
letterbox?

OK OK - Twin Postcards
Everyedition 2019 no ISBN Acqn 30248
Pb 22x28cm 104pp col ills £24.75

Collected and edited by Alberto Vieceli, this compendium of postcards from throughout Europe
and beyond makes a point of emphasising the generic nature of the ubiquitous touristic greeting
format. Printed on each page are full-size reproductions of a pair of postcards that share the
exact same layout while showing very different holiday destinations. These juxtapositions create
a playful and often incongruous visual effect. Through his attentive selection and layout of
postcards from the collection, Vieceli poses questions about mass tourism and the capitalist
marketing of cities and destinations.

Vieceli & Cremers - Division Of Pleasures

Everyedition 2019 ISBN 9783952489420 Acqn 30089
Pb 15x21cm 136pp ills £17.50

Joy Division fans, pop culture fanatics, and wannabe hipsters, take note. Forty years after the
release of 'Unknown Pleasures', the band's debut studio album, design studio Vieceli & Cremers
presents 'Division of Pleasures'. The album's cover artwork was designed by artist Peter Saville,
using a data plot of signals from a radio pulsar. Taking this image as its theme - one which has
since triggered countless interpretations and reprocessings as a globally recognised pop cultural
trope - the book features 136 pages of recreations, installations, modifications, transformations,
pre-digital memes, repetitions and differences, and differences in repetition. With an essay by
Jorg Scheller.

To Focus On Reading Rather Than Looking

Everyedition 2019 ISBN 9781527246874 Acqn 30087
Pb 13x19cm 340pp col ills £19.75

Graphic designer Elena Etter invites us to think about writing in different ways, as well as outside
of the scope of literary practice. This book is a collection of rewritings accomplished through
listening and attentiveness, and acts as both an experiment in writing and a record of some sort.
Gathered over the years, initially with no explicit purpose, the collection amounts to more than the
sum of its parts. It could perhaps be called "uncreative writing", a term conceived by Kenneth
Goldsmith, where the emphasis is on doing something over. The book thus serves as an
introspective exercise for the designer - one which argues that we do not passively receive
information, but actively generate it.
