1. SCOPE

The purpose of this report is to design the base connection between the
preserved palm and the 200 mm concrete slab below it .

2. REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

2.1 Codes and Standards :

• EOTA TR 029 “CONNECTION DESIGN”
• EOTA TR 045 “SIESMIC CONNECTION DESIGN”

2.2 Drawings:
The following inputs have been used in finalizing of this report
• 401-CI-L-04-20-5.00-PD-SD-011.
• 401-CI-L-04-20-5.00-PD-SD-012.

3. Materials properties

3.1 Concrete:
Density of concrete = 2.5 t/m3
Concrete Type : Cracked concrete
Fcu = 30 Mpa
Steel rebars: Fy = 460 Mpa
Structural steel Fy = 275 Mpa

3.2 Bolts:
HIT-ZM16

3.3 Adhesive:
HIT-HY200-A

4. Design criteria, methodology & assumptions

• The base connection will be post chemical installing

5. Design loads:

Wind (WL):
• 0.25 KN/m2 “AC wind pressure” .

3 CITISCAPE
-Neglect own weight.
- Solidity Factor For Palm crown 40 %.
-Average trunk diameter = 50 cm
-Wind load at tree trunk = 0.25 x 0.5 perimeter x Hight = 0.25 x (3.14 x 0.25) x 8 = 1.568 KN
- Wind load at tree crown = 0.25 x 0.4 x Total crown area = 0.25 x 0.4 x 12.56 = 1.256 KN
- Total ultimate bending moment at base connection = 1.6 ( 1.568 x 4 + 1.256 x 10 )
= 30.12KN
- Total ultimate shear force at base connection = 1.6 ( 1.568 + 1.256 ) = 4.518 KN
