CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter presents the summary of findings, the conclusion drawn, and

recommendations made as stated in the statement of the problem.

Summary of Findings

The findings of the study are as follows:

1. Demographic Profile

1.1 Track - Majority of the respondents are from technical vocational &

livelihood track that consist of 184 or 61.3% of the respondents while the least

respondents are from academic track that has a total of 116 or 38.7 % of the

respondents for a total of 300 or 100% respondents.

1.2 Strand - Most of the respondents are from general academic strand

with a total number of 116 or 38.7% followed by 78 or 26% respondents from

home economics-cookery, 58 or 19.3% from information communication &

technology, 35 or 11.7% from industrial arts –EIM and the lowest number of

respondents are from nursing aide that is only composed of 13 or 4.3%.

2. Curriculum exits preference of graduating senior high school

2.1 Higher Education- Majority of the respondents who decided to pursue

higher education after they graduate from senior high school are from the

general academic strand that consists of 87 or 37.83%,37 or 16.87%

respondents from home economics- cookery chooses higher education. 36 or

15.65% respondents choses higher education in information communication &

technology on the other hand, 13 or 5.65% respondents from industrial arts-EIM

decided to pursue higher education after they graduate. About 10 or 4.35%

decided to pursue higher education from nursing aide. To sum up, a total of 183

or 80.35% from the respondents chooses higher education as their exit point

when they graduate from senior high school.

2.2 Middle-level Skills Development- Majority of the respondents who

chooses middle-level skills development as their exit point after they graduate

from senior high school are from industrial arts-EIM that consists of 3 or 1.31 %,

second are from; information communication & technology, Home economics-

cookery and nursing aide all got 1 or 0.43% respondents who chooses middle-

level skills development and none decided to take middle-level skills

development from general academic strand. Overall, there are 6 respondents or

2.6% wants to pursue middle-level skills development as their exit point after they

graduate from senior high school.

2.3. Entrepreneurship- Most of the respondents who decide to pursue

entrepreneurship as their exit point after they graduate from senior high school

are from general academic strand that consist of 2 or 0.9% respondents, second

are from; information communication & technology and industrial arts- EIM who

both got 1 or 0.43% respondent and lastly, both home economics-cookery and

nursing aide got 0 or 0%. To sum up, a total of 4 or 1.7% from the respondents

chooses entrepreneurship as their exit point when they graduate from senior high

school.

2.4 Employment- Majority of the respondents who decided to take

employment as their exit point after they graduate from senior high school is from

general academic strand that consist of 17 or 7.39% of the respondents, second

is from information communication & technology who got 10 or 4.35%, third is

from industrial arts-EIM who got 6 or 2.61%, fourth is from home economics-

cookery that consist of 4 or 1.74 and lastly, none from nursing aide chooses

employment as their exit point. Overall, there are 37 or 16.09% wants to take

employment as their exit point after they graduate from senior high school.

Conclusions

Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are drawn:

 Out of 300 respondents, the majority is from Technical Vocational

and Livelihood Track that consist of 184 or 61.3% of the

respondents.

 Out of 300 respondents, the majority is from general academic the

strand, garnering 116 or 38.7% among the total respondents.

 Majority of the curriculum exit preference of graduating senior high

school is pursuing higher education that consist of 183 or 80.35%

among the total respondents, second is employment that consist of

37 or 16.09% of the respondents, third is middle-level skills

development that has 6 or 2.6% respondents, lastly, on the fourth

rank is entrepreneurship that consist of 4 or 1.7% respectively.

Recommendations

Based on the findings and conclusions presented, the following

recommendations are suggested.

1. The School administrators should implement school programs that suit to the

needs of the students taking their career and displays information that will help

and provide background for senior high school students in college courses.

2. The Guidance counselor must consider more factors that affect students’

choice career and formulate plans, programs and strategies geared towards the

improvement of career guidance of the student.

3. The Teachers should provide information that would be provided for students

to develop clarity on the basis of the course of college courses as they would

like.

4. The Students must determine their skills in order to choose the curriculum

exits that suit to them.

5. The Future researchers must read this study to get valuable information and

strategies that will serve as guide to formulate new topic related to this study.
