Installation
1. Unzip the Additional Labels Content V1.zip on your local disk
2. Bulkload the ‘Additional Labels Content V1.xls’ to your catalog database in A/M/D mode
3. Open Project Management, select your catalog database and edit properties to find the location
of the Symbols/SharedContent folder to add files to in below steps
4. Add the contents of the folder ‘Add to Symbols OR SharedContent (share used by catalog)’ to
the [Symbols/SharedContent] folder found in step 3
5. Based on the software version you are using, rename one of the dlls supplied to
Smart3DVB6QI.dll (.2011 works for 2011 SP1, 2011 R1 and .2014 for 2014, 2014 R1)
6. Copy the Smart3DVB6QI.dll to ‘Custom Symbols’ folder on the share found in step 3
7. Open Project Management, select your catalog database and run the Update Custom Symbol
Configuration command. Verify that there are no errors related to the Smart3DVB6QI.dll.
Label Details
Area and Unit
Returns name of the closest parent area or unit system for selected object. This label supports delegated
query to add additional properties.

Cable Path
Returns the names of cableways the cable passes through as well as the originating and terminating
equipment names.
Equipment Bearing, Equipment Pitch and Equipment Roll
Return the bearing, pitch and roll angle for selected equipment

Feature Length
Returns the length of a feature. For an inline feature it is the port to port length. For an elbow type turn,
it is the sum of port to center lengths, for a bend type turn it is the arc length.

Spool Length
Returns the length of a spool. This is calculated by the product and just exposed via this label.
Part Length
Returns the length of a part by summing the distance from the center of the component to its ports. For
end components there is special logic to output the IJUAFaceToEnd.FaceToEnd value for components
that support this interface and the flange thickness for blind flanges.
Iso Run Name
Returns the name of the run (or pipeline) when applied to the longest straight pipe or the oldest
component in a run. This label is intended to be used to output the run (or pipeline) name in an
isometric only once for each run. By default, run name is returned, if pipeline name is desired, need to
set Arg = “Pipeline” in the rqe file.
Opening Position
Returns the coordinates of the centroid of an opening.

Pipe Turn Feature Label

Returns the coordinates of a pipe turn feature. This is useful for underground piping orthographic
drawings.

R3D File Name

Returns the names of the R3D file and the R3D model from Project Management for any R3D element.
This label may be used in interference checking reports. This label supports delegated query to add
additional properties. A property named R3DFullFileName is also available to report the full file name
(including folder paths) for S3D 2014 and later.

Run Length
Returns the total centerline length for piping, cableway, conduit and duct runs. This label supports
delegated query to add additional properties.
Support Notes
Returns the concatenated text of all notes of desired type placed on an object. Values must be supplied
in the Action and Arg fields in the rqe for this label to indicate which type of notes’ text should be output
(comma separated codelist numbers from the NotePurpose codelist in the Arg and delimiter in the
Action). For example to output the text of all Design and Remark notes separated by carriage returns in
the isometric, the rqe would read as below – this is also the default if no argument and action are
specified.

Doing this ensures that ‘Fabrication’ type notes which are often placed via the AIR of a hanger (and
intended for orthographic drawings) do not show up on the isometric.
Supporting Object Name
Returns the names of the object supporting the hanger – member, slab, wall, plate, footing, foundation,
handrail, stair, ladder or equipment names are returned.

R3D_TopRight_CA_JL
Allows outputting the range top or bottom for R3D elements. This is useful when a drawing needs to be
created from R3D structure and TOS values need to be output on the drawing. This label supports
delegated query for adding additional properties.

R3D Report
Allows reporting out the mapped properties for R3D elements in a report. All the returned properties
need to be added to the rqe file by editing the file directly. The filter that returns the R3D elements also
needs to be added to the FILTER tag in rqe by editing the file directly. Resulting report (for equipment
items) looks like below.

DQSPMATPipingMTO
This is a version of the SPMAT Piping MTO delivered with the catalog that supports delegated COM
query using RETURNED_PROPERTIES in the rqe file. A sample is included that shows how to add
Reporting Requirement for parts, bolts and gaskets resulting in output similar to below.

System Hierarchy Report

Create Filter
1. Create a filter ‘System Hierarchy Report’ under Catalog Filters\Default Filters\SP3D Report
Filters\Types of Reports\Diagnostic

2. On the System tab, make it ‘Asking’

 3. On the object types tab, select ‘System’ type objects

Run and Use Report

1. Run the report ‘Reports\Types of Reports\Diagnostic\System Hierarchy Report’ and select the
portion of system hierarchy you wish to export
2. After the report completes, open the XLS and delete the (hidden) column A from the
SYSTEM_HIERARCHY sheet and save the XLS. You may also enter a permission group for each
system if you are using 2011 or later
3. Use the import command in Systems and Specifications task to import systems using the saved
XLS from step above
