Distinctive Muslim Character

Origin of People’s Creation:

- The origin of all people is Adam. All people came from one man and one woman. Adam

was made from dust, and therefore we all came from dust.

- < ‫ل شعوبًا َو َجعَ ْلنَاك ْمُ َوأنثَىُ ذَكَرُ ِمن َخلَ ْقنَاكم إِنَّا النَّاسُ أَيُّ َها يَا‬

- The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: “ْ‫”ت ُ َرابْ ِمنْ ُخ ِلقَْ َوآدَ ُْم آدَ َْم بَنُو ُكلُّ ُهم‬

Human Instinct:

- Everyone is born with pure instinct that Allah is one

- However, this instinct can be corrupted by parents after birth

The Main Characteristics of the Muslim

1. Man of Beliefs:

a. A Muslim believes in Allah, Islam, and The Prophet Muhammad SAW

b. Muslims also believe in the 6 pillars of faith: Belief in Allah, the Angels, the

Books, the Prophets, the Day of Judgement, and Al-Qadr

c. These beliefs effect our world view and how we treat people

2. Man of Worship:

a. Everything in your life should be done with intention that it is for Allah

b. < ‫( > العالمين رب هلل ومماتي ومحياي ونسكي صالتي إن قل‬Quran 6:162)

3. Character of Manner:
 a. You should take The Prophet SAW as a role model for everything in your life

c. The Prophet Muhammad SAW was like a Quran walking among men

d. ‫خلقْا ً أحسنهم إيمانْا ً المؤمنين أكمل‬

4. Man of Knowledge, Good Treatment, and Message:

a. Muslims should be knowledgeable in their faith

b. They should have sufficient knowledge of their religion

c. They should be seekers of knowledge

d. They should be courteous to people and treat them well

e. They should be an ambassador of Islam and represent it well

f. When conversing or dealing with people, you should begin and end with

1. Relaxing/peace of the mind and heart. When you apply all the teachings of Islam, you do

not feel any anxiety or depression. When a Muslim faces any problems, they should

accept it and say alhamdulillah as this is what Allah wants.
