PURPOSE OF THE DOCUMENT:

information (scope, deliverables, assumptions, etc.) about the Project.

The Project Manager creates the Project Charter in the Initiation Phase of the Project, in
consultation with the Business Manager. Its purpose is to recognize the existence of the project
and to begin the planning process required to accomplish the Project goals. It is not intended to

PROJECT CHARTER

Project Name: PARASITISM: Bulate sa Tiyan, Huwag Project Number: 01
Pagbigyan!
Date: December 09, 2019 Revision Number: 01

1. PROJECT GOALS

The aim of the project is to reduce the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminths (STH) among school-age
children through a seminar, a clean-up drive, and preventive chemotherapy. The seminar will focus on raising
awareness about parasitism and its effects on human health, while the clean-up drive will control the survival
and transmission of STH in the environment. The application of preventive chemotherapy will be in the form of a
school-based mass deworming.

2. DELIVERABLES

For the goals of the project to be reached, the project team shall need to deliver a comprehensive seminar on
Soil transmitted helminths and Parasitism. Provide a mass deworming administration among the school-age
children in the province of Isabela in Cagayan Valley. Coordinate with the local government unit to spread the
news about the project and help in administering the said project. The project team has to create a scheduled
timeline on the treatment to be given to the children, research the effects and have a follow up diagnosis after
weeks of treatment.

3. SCOPE DEFINITION

The scope of this project is in the province of Isabela in Cagayan Valley. This project will only limit the activities to
elementary school children ages 5-12 and their parents. This decision is due to a nationwide survey conducted for over
ten years which substantiated that more than six million children aged 2-14 are infected with at least one of the three soil
transmitted parasites. Parents are needed to be included in the activities, specifically the seminar, since the children will
be needing their help to understand the reasons behind the acquisition of parasite and the risks that are associated. This
project will not include children that are not currently studying in the elementary schools in Isabela, Cagayan Valley. The
responsibility lies on both business and project managers as well as the head of every department.

5. ASSUMPTIONS, CONSTRAINTS & DEPENDENCIES

One of the assumptions that were made while defining the scope was implementing this to school children,
making them worm free and giving them the knowledge that they need to prevent parasitism. The scope of our
advocacy are the school aged children and the parents of the students in Isabela in Cagayan Valley. The total
time that we need to accomplish our goal is about 6 days in 2 weeks span. The costs will be, the transportation,
medications, and foods that will be given to the students.

Constraints:
● TIme
○ the project will be implemented during the weekends such as Friday. Saturday, and Sunday
some of the students may not come to school.

● Regulatory issues
○ Due to lack of surveillance some of the families may not drink the required medications on
time, which can lead to ineffective deworming.

● Dependencies to the project

○ With the families being dependent to the project, making the effects of the project temporary.
In other words, after the project implementation they will still do the same habits which will
lead to parasitism once again.
