INTODUCTION

In india, Anation wide ban on single-use plastic products went in to effect in january 1-2020.government
has banned use of plastic bag below so microns. India prime minister Narendra modi has said his
goverments doal is to make india completely free of single use plastic by 2020.single use plastic are
products designed to be used only once and then thrown away these include plastic bags and products
used for eating and drinking.

As the country prepare for the new rules one india state is looking back on it's decision to ban plastic
bags twenty one years ago. The state of sikkim, in india's northeast launched the ban in 1998.the state
officials look the action after heavy rain caused several major land slider in the area.

Business in food, drink, retail and e-commers industries are set to be the most affected by the changes
in legislation regarating single use plastics due to their heavy use in packaging. in the case of kerala after
considering enviormental and health issue related to monting plastic waste, the government decide to
ban single-use-plastic products in the state from jan-1-2020.A government press release said "plastic
carry bags, plastic sheets, plastic plates, cups, thermo col and styrofoam based fancy items and other
have been banned" As well as the positive effects the ban of single-use-plastic have some adverse
effects in some areas. The present study intend to investigate the problems faced by the wholesalers
and retailers by the ban of single -use-plastic in chalakudy.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

it s very siginificants to study about this topic in such a context a nation wide ban on single-use-plastic
products went in to effect in january1-2020. According to the naturalist the ban on single-use-plastic is a
great thing because india generated 26000 tonnes per day of plastic waste in 2017-18, the last year for
which data is available. According to the central pollution control is available. according to the central
pollution control board of that, 15600 tonnes per day of plastic waste in 2018-19, the last year for which

percent was recycled. The rest ended are thrown on roads, in land hills or in streams. Uncollected plastic
waste poses a huge threat to specie on land and in water around eight million tone of plastic waste
enter the ocean every year the river alone took 1.15 lake tonnes of plastic in to the ocean in 2015. The
factor that prompted the government to ban the use of single-use-plastic is it destory the nature.

It is one side opinion. It also has a other portion. The ban of one-time-use plastics also have some
adverse effect. The present study looks in to the problem faced by wholesales and retailers by the ban
of single-use-plastic. The study address the question that how they mange their business by the ban of
single-use-plastic. Because wholesalers supply goods to retailers in balk and retailers are supplying
consumer goods through various types and sizes of plastic bags so the study looks in to the changes that
came in the supply of products. It is sure that the ban of single-use-plastics is good for the environment.
But it also have some negative side. That it increases the drudgery involved in the wholesalers and
retailers for the transfer of their products so it is necessary to study how the ban of single-use-plastics
affected this field the study also looks in to if these any cost increases or aditionally any requirements to
the firm by the ban of single use plastics

Objectives

1.to examine the problems of wholesales and retailers for the transportation of products by the ban of
plastic

2.to know the different method that they adopted to exchange goods or products

SCOP OF THE STUDY

The study was conducted on the topic "the problem faced by the wholesalers and retailers by the ban of
single-use-plastic products at chalakudi" the entire study conducted at chalakudy to find out financial
and social issues of wholesales and retailers by the ban of plastic products

The study is conducted at chalakudy municipality

Population

The population of the study includes are wholesalers and most of the retailers in chalakudy municipality

SAMPLE SIZE

wholesalers and retailers 30samples was conviniently selected from the whole population

Period of the study

The study was conducted in the months of january and february
