Ring Main Circuit Breaker with Disconnector switch

Type : EN-RMC

Catalog No.: RMC 6107.M0

Introduction RMC 6107.M0 1 / 19

Over view
EN-RMC Series Ring Main Circuit Breaker is pad mounted fully deadfront switchgear for up to 12kV, 630A
underground system, combining disconnect switches and vacuum fault interrupters.
EN-RMC series switchgear incorporates disconnect switches for every ways to provide added safety
and faster operation.
Every bushing in this switchgear is installed with CTs and voltage sensor each, so all the electrical
values of connected distribution system can be measured.
EN-RMC series Ring Main Circuit Breaker has been fully certified in accordance with IEC 62271-100
to meet and exceed customer specifications.

Design
The EN-RMC Ring Main Circuit Breaker is a non-extensible ring main unit comprising of 4 feeders in
one common stainless steel tank.
The unit is suitable for outdoor applications and can be used either as a freestanding unit or
installed in compact mini-substations.

Stainless steel enclosure

SF6 Gas insulation media which is enclosed in stainless steel tank sealed for life and maintenance free
with less than 0.1% leakage rate per year,
The EN-RMC has normal insulation and interruption performance even at an atmospheric gas pressure.

Circuit Breaker
The circuit breaker comprises of three vacuum interrupters, which have a fault-make, fault-break rating.
Opening of the circuit breaker is achieved by opening of the manually operating push button or openig electrical
push button or via signal of the protection relay.
Motoried spring charge mechanism for Circuit Breaker.

Operation
All operating positions and instructions are indicated on the main panel at the front of the unit.
Operation is by means of manually independent mechanisms, which are mounted external to the main enclosure.
Deadfront design and mechanical interlock between main and earth switch provides a high level of safety and
efficient maintenance.

Cable test Bushings

Each cable can be easily tested with insulated cable testing bushings.

Interlocks and padlocks

Positive safety interlocks are incorporated on all switch positions to prevent mal-operation.
All switch and selector positions can be padlocked.
Introduction RMC 6107.M0 2 / 19

Typical uses
Simple outdoor substation, customer transformer substations and distribution substations
Industrial plants and underground stations

Highly Reliability
At atmospheric gas pressure, it ensure the rated insulation and interruption capabilities.
Pure puffer techniques, no leakage current path between open contacts.
Switchgear vessel made of stainless steel
Maintenance-free concept
SF6 gas insulation and vaccum interruption.(circuit breaker)
Sealed pressure system
Climate-independent

Safety
Operation interlock at front panel
Safe-to-touch and hermetically sealed enclosure
HV parts are only accessible when outgoing feeders are earthed
Overpressure relief device
Pad lock
Easy installation and operation
The speed of close/open is independent of the speed of lever movement.

3-Position off-load disconnector with VCB is used for cable earthing.

The disconnector is placed between busbar and VCB such that VCB can be used for cable earthing
when disconnector is in earth position.

Side view
Cable box(rear side)
Cable test bushing(upper side)

All parts of the main circuit is inside SF6 tank except cables and CTs.
Provision for cable termination is made through seal off bushings at the bottom of switchgear
on the same height, parallel , on equal distance as from the ground and is accessible from the rear of
the RMU and protected by cable box covers. Ring type CTs to be assembled on the seal off bushings.
Features - Operating panel RMC 6107.M0 5 / 19

Operating panel

Voltage indicator
Red led blinks if high voltage present at main bushing
Capacitive voltage divider in bushings supply the power of voltage indicator
Installed on every operating panel

Phase comparison test unit

There are 2 plugs on phase comparison test unit
Connect each plug to the circuit where need to be tested.
If operator need to check A phase on circuit 2 and A phase
on circuit 3, connect one of the phase comparison test plug to Voltage indicator
phase A and on 2nd circuit and connect other plug to phase A on circuit 3.
If operator checks on same phase to test, test unit does not work.
If phases are different, test unit lamp start to blink.
Test unit still blinks even if pressurized.
Operation - Definition of Status RMC 6107.M0 6 / 19

Definition of Status
There are 3 status of RMU.
1. Close status: Busings and common bus bar is connected electrically.
2. Open status: Busings and common bus bar is disconnected electrically.
3. Earth status: Busings and earth bushing is connected electrically.
