Vision of Self as a School Leader

Sarah M. Cowell

Johnston Principal Leadership Academy, NCSU

1. ​As an educational leader, I will ​establish and maintain positive working relationships

with all stakeholders​. ​2. ​Through the ​building of trust​, I will work to ​cultivate a positive,

inclusive school culture that focuses on building community, developing the whole child, and

bolstering student achievement​. ​3.​ I will ​model the behaviors and actions I expect​ from my

students and staff, including my ​commitment to continuous growth​, both as an educator and an

individual. ​4.​ I will use ​thoughtful processes to provide ongoing feedback​ to teachers, staff, and

students, and​ work to build the capacity of teachers​ in my building and ​create teacher-leaders

who can sustain the overall effectiveness of the school​. ​5.​ I will be ​solution-oriented and willing

to challenge the status quo​ in an effort to ​provide ​each​ learner with the best educational

experience possible​. ​6.​ My ultimate goal will be to ​make school a place where students and staff

​ y creating a joyful learning environment​ where​ all are held to high expectations

and ​provided with the support​ needed to ​become the best version of themselves​.
