Bar code Scanners
The corded scanner is attached to the PS2 keyboard connector in the CPU by using a
Synapse cable connector. Both the keyboard and the scanner can function at the
same time. Cordless scanners obtain power from the CPU.
The cordless scanners also has a synapse cable to be used as an data input device at
the same time as the keyboard. Cordless scanners have their own power supply.
Cordless scanners are paired to their RF bases by scanning the label in the base.
The barcode symbol scanners can be programmed to behave in different ways. The
scanners are programmed by scanning special programming barcodes.
It is recommended to obtain a copy of the Symbol Advanced Programming Guide to
program the scanners for more sophisticated behaviors. It is also recommended to
obtain the advance-programming manual. A soft copy of the advanced programming
manual can be found in the following URL
