It is hereby enacted as follows:-

l. Short title and commencement.-{ I) This Act may be called the

Rulers ofAcceding States (Abolition ofPrivy Purses andPrivileges) (Amendment)
Acr,2017.

(2) [t shall come into force at once.

2.Am.[dment of Article 5, Order t5 of 19?2.-ln rhe Rule of

Acceding Staies (Abolition ofPri\y Plrses and Privileges) Order, 1972 (pO. No.
I5 of 1972), in Article 5, after claus€ (2), rhe following new clause shall be added,
narnely:

"(3) Notwithstanding anlthjng contain€d in clause (1) and subject to

clause (2), the Fede.al Govemment may, for reasons to be.ecorded
in writing, increase maintenance allowance ofaRuleror, as the case
may be, a dependenl ofa Ruler".
