In this experiment, we still use the same equipment we use last experiment. We just add a Load
cell instead arms and weights, a PC set, and a ________. We were able to see the actual outcomes of the
system or connection. For this activity were asked to do 2 types of experiment, 1 st is to get the outcomes of
the system for continuous breaking and the second is to get data for stop start break data. Doing the same
connection with the last experiment, and just added the connection of the _________, and the Cell Load.
We still do the same procedure, for the first part is to run the motor up to 3600 RPM and break the motor
continuously and we record the data while the motor is slowing down up to the motor is so slow by the use
of the software we run. Then after we gathered the data of the first part of the experiment we plot the graph
of the data. Then after we finish the first part of the experiment we proceed to the second part of the
experiment which is the stop start, we still do the same procedure we run up the motor up to 3600 RPM
then after the motor achieved the speed we do the stop start procedure and record the data with the
software again when the motor is being stop and run again after recording the data and stop again and
The experiment aims to introduce the principle of the DC motor operating with shunt-field excitation
circuits and to recognize its electromechanical characteristics. For this experiment we just get the data
easily because of the experiments software. This experiment, load cell is used and not the metal arms.
Same procedure from the last experiment we do, but different type of gathering data and analyzing data.
Data were collected with the use of software installed in our PC set. Two trials were performed. First one is
gathering data as the machine is slowly breaking while for the other is breaking with the time interval.
As the experiment ends, I therefore conclude that the DC Motor is a constant speed device.
Also, shunt motor is different from the series motor in that the field winding is connected in parallel with the
armature instead of in series. If a load is applied, the motor will slow down. The slight loss in speed reduces
the EMF and as a result the armature current increases as the motor armature, this motor means the state
of balance. The main factor of the DC is the variation of the speed with a change of load and the variation
of the torque change in load over time. The DC motor has a high starting torque at different speed. You
should remember from basic electrical theory that a parallel circuit is often referred to as a shunt. Since the
field winding is placed in parallel with the armature, it is called a shunt winding and the motor is called a
shunt motor. Is a mechanically made electric motor running on a direct current with characteristics like
Rotating armature winding, non-rotating armature magnetic field and static field windings.
