DEDICATION

This study is dedicated to all indigent youth who are aspiring to be

successful individuals in attaining their dream careers provided by having

the right tool in the form of tertiary education. The researchers

acknowledged the hardship of studying without proper financial support and

hopes that this study will open awareness and opportunity that can be

extended by scholarship programs. In this regard, the individuals behind

this research hope that the endeavors of these youth will be achieved for a

better and more sustainable life.

The researchers finally dedicate this work to their families who served

as a source of encouragement and inspiration that leads to the completion

of this research work.

This study re-investigates the effectiveness of the scholarship

program provided by PH214 Child Development Center, a non-government

organization in Phase 4 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, in terms of providing

proper education as a tool for the development of the socio-economic status

of their beneficiaries..

In order to come up with the conclusions and recommendations,

statistical data and other useful information were gathered, presented and

evaluated from the respondents of this study through focus group discussion,

questionnaires and by gathering necessary documents and reports. Factors

that affects the effectiveness of the program are then discussed and

evaluated including the challenges encountered, the method used by the

institution to resolve these issues, and the recommendations that can be

undertaken to further improve the program. It can therefore be found that the

struggles that the institution encountered affect the success of the program.

Struggles like lack of commitment from parents and beneficiaries;

sponsorship and other untoward events results to unplanned exits by the

recipients. The remedies implemented by the institution involved in this

struggles were also implemented including the extent of the implementation.
