Client List of Values (LOV) Profile Options for Search Logic ............. 40
Succession............................................................................................................................... 162
We’ve taken the employee and manager self-service pages to the next level by redesigning them to look and behave the same
on desktop and mobile devices. We’ve also changed the look and feel of the pages to provide a better experience for end users.
Note: In the images or examples included in this document regarding: user details, company names, addresses, emails, and/or
telephone numbers represent a fictitious sample of data (based upon made up data used in a demo environment). Any
similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.
Contact Information Page on a Mobile Device Contact Information Page on the Desktop
Pages and messages look more modern and use simpler, more conversational language so that you can more easily read and
understand content across all devices.
The pages are clutter-free and clean and display only those fields that are required to complete the task. You can personalize
the pages and add more fields that are hidden by default.
For most self-service tasks, you’re asked what you want to do, and the task is broken down into a series of steps based on your
choice.
This document provides the steps that you must complete to enable the new HCM Redesigned Cloud User Experience, as well
as how to enable the features you want to take advantage of in the redesigned user experience. Features are organized by
product and provide the required steps to enable.
You will also find information on the security privileges you will need to have in order to see and perform actions in the
Redesigned User Experience.
This document will also identify what fields are displayed, conditionally displayed, or hidden within the products. Pages are
delivered displaying frequently used fields, while other less frequently used fields are hidden. Tools are available to change the
display of hidden fields or hide the displayed fields on a page, enabling you to configure the pages to work best for you.
To use the redesigned user experience pages, you must first enable the HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED required
profile option and set the Site level value to Y. After reviewing the redesigned features if you want to add a feature to your
applications, you will need to also enable the profiles defined for that feature. You can use the same setup steps below for the
global enablement, as well as for the feature enablement’s that you choose to add.
As product features are released, details of the profile options to create and enable will be in the associated What’s New
documentation, as well as this document.
Question: If I enable the redesigned user experience can I go back to the previous pages? Yes, you can switch between the
pages by going to the Manage Administrator Profile Options and changing the Site Level value to N.
NOTE: Because these are new pages, any personalizations made to the previous pages will not be applied to the new pages.
You will need to review the new pages and make any needed personalizations for these pages.
You must enable the HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED profile option by following the steps below:
Field Value
Profile Option HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED
Code
You must follow the process to globally enable the redesigned features, as well as to enable specific product features.
To enable the profile option, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area:
1. Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
2. Search for and select the HCM_RESPONSIVE_ENABLED profile option, or other profile options you are enabling.
3. Select the Level as Site.
4. Enter a Y in the Profile Value field.
5. Click Save and Close.
This section addresses profile options to be enabled to use the new product features redesigned user experience.
New customers starting with release 19D or a later release can skip this section. The new redesigned responsive pages
are the delivered by default to your environments.
To enable the redesigned pages, you must enable the profile options in the tables below. The tables show the release, the
features and which profiles are needed. Use the steps documented in the Steps to Enable Profile Options in the beginning of this
document to learn how to enable the profile options.
Reminder: After you enable the new profile options, earlier corresponding versions of the pages are no longer available. Your
users will interact with only the redesigned pages. If you need to revert to the previous/classic page, go to Manage Administrator
Profile Values and set the Site level value to N for the respective profile option.
NOTE: Some features may have additional setup required. Please see the What’s New for these features to see the details on
additional setups needed.

Function security privileges and aggregate privileges secure access to lists of values in the responsive user experience pages.
Predefined job and abstract roles inherit these privileges. If you’re using the predefined roles, then no action is necessary. If
you’re using both the responsive user experience pages and custom versions of relevant roles, then you must add these
privileges to your custom roles. Please review the Privileges Securing Lists of Values in Responsive User Experience Pages
topic in chapter 23 of the Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud
Securing HCM guide located in the Oracle Help Center. This topic identifies the privileges, the lists of values that they secure,
and the predefined roles that inherit them.
Client LOVs use the "contains" logic and return results containing the characters you enter. You can optionally change this logic
to "starts with" for individual LOVs to return results that start with the characters instead. For example, if you search for the
worker "John Smith", when the LOV logic is "contains", you can search by "jo" or "smi" or "th". When the LOV logic is "starts
with", your search must start with "j". A "starts with" logic will improve performance and should be used when your list contains
thousands of values (usually 15,000 or more records) or you do not partition your data by set ID. SRs logged for performance
issues when using "contains" logic will be closed with a resolution to use "starts with".
Changing the search logic for a client LOV changes the logic in all pages where the LOV is used.
Use the following profile options to change the search logic for a client LOV.

Oracle Social Network is not compatible with the Redesigned User Experience pages.
By default the responsive user experience pages display the frequently used fields and hide the less frequently used fields. This
chapter helps you to identify which fields are displayed, conditionally displayed, or hidden in the products. If there are hidden fields
your company wants to display, you can personalize the responsive pages using Page Composer. Visibility of fields displayed
either as delivered or enabled using Page Composer can then be controlled using the new Transaction Design Studio. Use the
Transaction Design Studio to control the availability of fields and sections of a transaction for new redesigned transactions by
legal employer and role.
Many mobile responsive pages and transactions can be configured using the Transaction Design Studio. Log into the application
to see what's available.
For information on how to personalize mobile pages using the Transaction Design Studio, refer to the following:
The Transaction Design Studio -What It Is and How It Works (Document 2504404.1) in My Oracle Support
For information on how to personalize pages using Page Composer, refer to the following:
- Read the Oracle Applications Cloud: Configuring and Extending Applications Guide - Chapter 3 on Page
Customization
- Watch the Developer Relations Page Composer on the Oracle YouTube channel.
For more information on how to personalize the human resource application pages you can review some short videos in Cloud
Customer Connect in the HCM Configuration Solutions center.
