Companies are constantly having to meet the demands of rising costs. Improved
efficiency in all parts of production is the logical answer.
Demag conductor systems are an important part of the solution, offering versatility
and efficiency.
Demag DEL single conductors provide a high-performance power supply system for
mobile equipment such as cranes and monorails. They can be easily integrated into
existing installations for lasting economical benefits.

5.1 Straight sections Straight sections are 5945 mm long. A length of 6000 mm should be used for design
purposes. Shorter length sections are made using a straight cut. The green/yellow
protective earth (PE) conductor should be arranged to face the crane girder web.
The maximum permissible distance between brackets is 1000 mm, and 200 mm for
conductor connectors, isolating sections and end caps.
Two stop plates must be ordered for each conductor to secure against longitudinal
displacement.

6 DEL curved sections
Curved sections can be made in the factory or on site using a bending device. They
are supplied with 100 mm long straight ends for connection to the straight sections.
These straight ends must be removed if not required. The maximum permissible
distance between brackets is 500 mm, and 200 mm for conductor connectors,
isolating sections and end caps.

individual curved sections specified when designing conductor arrangements with
individual suspensions.
Section rails cannot be used with curved sections.

7 Conductor connectors and power feeds
Conductor connectors with expansion compensation are pushed into the conduc-
tors. Conductor connectors with power feed must be additionally provided with an
M5 connecting screw to connect ring terminal ends.

8 Isolating sections
Isolating or air-gap interrupt sections are available. Air-gap interrupt sections should
be used for increased demands and arduous operating conditions.
Isolating sections have the same dimensions as conductor connectors. Isolating
sections feature one and air-gap interrupt sections two M5 power feed screws
(see also conductor connectors).

1) Highly flexible connecting cable with double insulation must also be ordered (see section 15.4).
The smallest required conductor cross-section (2,5 – 6 mm²) must be used to keep the reaction forces on
the current collector pantograph as low as possible.
2) Current collector pantographs with graphite sliding contacts for operation outdoors, near salt water and
chemicals. Use double current collector pantographs for operation near salt water and chemicals.

Note: The electrical safety of 4-pole installations and 6-pole suspensions, for example, can
be improved by leaving a section empty between the three phases (PH) if the protec-
tive earth conductor (PE) is arranged on the outside of the suspension bracket.
Unguided entry operations into these arrangements are not possible.
