Makenna models integrity in her words and actions. She is able to show this in her classroom when students ask questions and inquire about different aspects. She provides them with her honest
answer, and does so by keeping them on topic and on task. According to the cooperating teacher, “Miss Doty is very honest in her interactions with me, staff, and students. She is mindful of the
delicate positions we hold as educators”.

Makenna cares for her students and their welfare within the classroom. She is very much an advocate for the students and provides servant leadership within the classroom setting. She has
created a bulletin board for her classroom and truly loves the school community. According to her cooperating teacher, “Miss Doty exhibits this expectations within the classroom. However, as
opportunities present themselves she should be more involved”.

interacted with students and staff in relation to the following standards.
Fairness
Teacher candidates should promote social justice and equity, maintain appropriate standards of confidentiality, and
exercise fairness in all areas including assessment.
Comments:
Makenna works with many different students and conducts her classroom with fairness. She maintains confidentiality in
regards to the different student needs. When students request assistance, she provides that assistance in answering
questions in a timely manner. According to the cooperating teacher, “Miss Doty consistently exhibits fairness and
equity—meeting students where they are, academically and behaviorally, and assesses based on expectations and
through the lens of her observations”.
Professional Conduct
Teacher candidates should exercise sound judgment and ethical behavior. They should be a positive role model within
their community.

Makenna exercises sound judgment and ethical behavior in the classroom. She shows professional conduct throughout
her time in the classroom. She follows the expectations set by her cooperating teacher. She takes an interest in the
students. According to the cooperating teacher, “Miss Doty exercises sounds judgement within her content choices,
activities, and interaction with students and staff. She models appropriate interactions”.
Reflection
Teacher candidates should recognize that reflection combined with experience leads to growth as a professional.
Educators should be thoughtful about their professional practice, critically examine it, and seek continual improvement.

others while providing intellectual, emotional, and spiritual support.
Comments: Makenna is very compassionate toward her students. She sits down with them and helps them with each
aspect of their learning. She is patient and helpful. She has such a calm demeanor in the classroom. It is very apparent
that she wants them to be successful. According to her cooperating teacher, “Miss Doty consistently shows warmth and
compassion toward the staff and the students. She often checks in on students who seem to be having a rough day”.
Advocacy
Teacher candidates understand the impact of community involvement and servant leadership as it applies to the welfare
of others in the educational setting.
