ELEMENTARY AWARDS PROGRAM


Monday, Dec. 6, in the gym @ 1:00pm.
The awards program is for the first 9 weeks of school.
**SECRET SANTA SHOP: The Secret Santa Shop is coming to Franklin County School for grades K-5. It
will be in room 1023 in the 1000 (middle school) building from Mon, Dec. 6 through Thurs, Dec. 9. The Secret
Santa Shop gives students the opportunity to secretly buy gifts for family & friends. It is a fundraiser for the 4th
Grade St. Augustine trip. The schedule is as follows:
Mon. Dec. 6- Browsing day - a time will be assigned to each class. No purchasing!
Tues, Dec. 7- KG & 1st grades may visit & purchase items.
Wed, Dec. 8- 2nd & 3rd grades may visit & purchase items
Thurs, Dec. 9- 4th & 5th grades may visit & purchase

**POINSETTIAS: A new shipment of red poinsettias has arrived. If you would like to purchase one call

**PICTURE ORDERS/ MONEY DUE by Fri, Dec. 3, for the school picture retakes & senior portraits.
Turn in to Ms. Patty Creamer in the library.
**GCCC REGISTRATION: Students who wish to dual enroll must be 10th grade or higher with a minimum of
a 3.0 GPA. Some courses require minimum scores on the CPT Test. Students may call guidance for an
appointment or drop by Ms. Buffkin’s office for an application. Courses are listed online on the GCCC
website under class schedules. Environmental Science (EVR 1001) & Psychology (PSY 2004) will be
offered on Mondays & Wednesdays @ FCS from 5:00-6:15pm. Classes will begin Jan. 5. FCS students
sign up in Guidance.
The classes are also open to adults who may sign up at the Gulf Franklin Cente or call, 227-9670 ext. 5.

**PARA’S - HEALTH AIDES - SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:
There will be a “Building the Educational Support Team” training Saturday, Dec. 4, at FCS. PAEC will be
administering the training from 9:00am-2:00pm in the FCS library. You may signup at Ms. Browning’s
desk @ FCS or with Joy Towns at FCLC. Bring your own lunch!!!

**2011 HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT SESSIONS: All benefit receiving employees need
to attend one of the enrollment sessions on Dec. 13 or 14. Employees will have the opportunity to
have the BCBS Health Savings Plan explained & to enroll in the district plan. Signup with Rosa
Tolliver at the District Office or with Sharon Browning at FCS. Session 1: Dec. 13 @ Willie Speed

** ”Parental Survival Skills” presented by Mark Keith. Thurs, Dec. 9, 5:30-7:00pm at the FCS
Media Center. Sponsored by FDLRS PAEC in conjunction with Franklin County School District. Explore the
family dynamics of having a child with “Special Needs” and look at the impacts that can occur on the social &

**WANTED- ART TEACHER for The Nest, Franklin County School’s after school program.
Hours: 2:30-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Pay: $16/hr. Must be able to plan & implement art lessons for
grades PreK-8. Drug test & background check required. Complete district employment application, available

**GED CLASSES on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays (except holidays) from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the
Franklin County Learning Center (the old Brown Elementary).
The next GED TEST will be given Jan. 10 & 11, at the Franklin County School library at 6:00pm.
