On-Chip Oscillator Function Background Operation (BGO) Function


This eliminates the need for an external oscillator and frees up the pins that would have been used to connect to it for use as extra I/O ports. The built-in BGO function allows the CPU to execute instructions while the data flash is being programmed or erased.
● CPU hold states are eliminated, shortening effective instruction execution time and substantially increasing interrupt
response time. This provides enhanced real-time performance for the system overall.
● There is no need to be aware of the data flash rewrite time. Data rewrites just like writing to external EEPROM.
