Vampire Metaplot Notes

Saulot’s Legacy

- Saulot’s original clan/branch are created as the Healers. He leads his clan in the earliest days in
Enoch. His followers willingly damn themselves in order to gain the powers they have to help and
aid others who are suffering. Saulot, seeing his own people willingly damn themselves wants to
find a way to remove the curse of vampirism but allow them to keep their powers to help others.

- Saulot leaves to find a way to lift the Curse, but keep the powers. He seeks enlightenment in
many places including Egypt where he helps to create a bloodline with a small group of Mummies
and create the Children of Osiris. This explains the similarities of Obeah and Bardo.

- Finds himself in China during a time of spiritual upheaval which saw the Wan Xian cursed to unlife
by the August Personage in Jade, creating the Kuei-jin. Saulot was found by a wandering Wan
Xian who decided to tutor Saulot in the Fivefold Path. Saulot aided the supernaturals in China by
hunting and destroying akuma along with two childer of his own – Zao-Zei and Zao-Xue who
would found the Watcher (or Wu Zao) branch of the clan. Together they uncovered infiltrating
akuma and destroyed them.

- Saulot tries to conquer his Beast through the teachings of the Fivefold Path but finds he is
incapable, though he feels that he is onto something in terms of increasing his hold on his
Humanity as a way to tame his Beast and break the Curse. He leaves China.

- On his travels back to Enoch he comes across a village where he stays for a short time. While
there he comes to find the villagers performing profane acts at night. Suspicious, he digs up what
is really going on and finds that three of the villagers are buried in a cleft nearby as they have
been possessed by demons who were summoned on the promise of granting the village plentiful
harvests and fertile livestock. He eradicates the townsfolk and tries to destroy the three demons
but he lacks the power. The lord of the three demons casts his gaze upon Saulot and possesses
him. While possessed, “Saulot” Embraces the three possessed humans. These become Moloch,
Nergal and an unknown third who become the first Baali.

- Aware of what happened, Saulot manages to fight off the akuma possession and get back to
Enoch before his new “childer” arrive and warns of an impending attack. Several of his childer
take up arms and learn how to direct Valeren in a more offensive manor, creating the Warrior line
of Salubri. The Baali are defeated and the other Cainites are now aware of infernal vampires
among their own kind.

- The akuma waits and watches. Centuries pass. Saulot continues to seek enlightenment and a
way to master the Beast. He spends decades at a time in torpor-like meditation while his clan
search the world over for artifacts, writings and clues towards seeking Golconda.

- A group of mages manage to create a serum that makes them near immortal. They in fact
become vampires but find that the solution isn’t 100%. Their leader, Tremere, discovers that if he
takes the soul of a clan founder that the serum would become permanent and he would be able to
grant his followers the gift of immortality as well.

- Saulot senses Tremere’s plans as Tremere searches for Saulot after hearing rumors that the
antediluvian spends most of his time in torpor and seeing that the Salubri are a small and
(wrongfully) guesses that they are weak as well. Saulot feels that Tremere could destroy the
akuma with his magics. What Saulot does not realize is that Tremere is being guided by the
akuma.

- Saulot summons Tremere (with Presence) and as Tremere diablerizes Saulot, Saulot realizes his
mistake. The akuma had come with Tremere and tries to take Saulot’s power and Tremere’s body
along with his knowledge of Blood Magic. Saulot and Tremere manage to work together in a brief
instant and destroy the akuma.

- Both are now aware that the Baali are still out there and pose a dangerous threat. Saulot
slumbers in order to continue his astral search for answers, knowing that conquering the Beast
will lead towards destroying the Baali. Tremere on the other hand communes with Saulot from
time to time but continually increases his power through Blood Magic to better combat the Baali
when the time is right.

- Tremere creates the secretive “House of the Third Eye” to aid the Salubri all while Goratrix and
Etrius continually wage propaganda wars against them so that their leader is not seen as a
diablerist and villain.

Lost Clans, Enoch & the Tal’Mahe’Ra

- The four Aralu under Enoch are the resting places for the antidiluvians Saulot, Cappadocius,
Brujah and an unknown fourth. When the time is right, these true antidiluvians will awaken and
destroy the false antidiluvians in order to put the true clans back into their rightful place. After this
event which will take place sometime after the Week of Nightmares, the current Brujah clan,
Giovanni and Tremere will all be regarded as bloodlines or clan variations of the true clans.

- Primary clans/bloodlines – Nagaraja (Euthanoi mages who became vampires – bloodline due to no
antidiluvian), True Brujah, Old Clan Tzimisce (recently started calling themselves Koldun),
Salubri, Ravnos, Assamites, Danava Ventrue (Indian variation), Baali (Moloch’s brood
specifically)

- The Tal will ultimately be responsible for finding and waking the Ravnos antediluvian. Any PC that
is a member of the Hand will likely aid in this event.

Gehenna

- Gehenna “happens” but is not the overarching apocalypse that many Cainites feared. A single
antediluvian, Ravnos, awakens, causes the Week of Nightmares and is subdued (not destroyed
as stated in official canon). At least three others awaken to enact vengeance on those that tried to
usurp them and then go back into their hidden torpors (see above).

- Things settle after Gehenna with a new order in terms of clans, but shortly after the 2 nd Inquisition
happens as the Tal’Mahe’Ra move their mortal pawns to try and do what Gehenna could not do.
