DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION 6

I: OBJECTIVES
At the end of a 50 min period, the grade six pupils will be able to:

1. Enumerate the popular folk dances in the Philippines


2. Performed the basic fundamental dance positions with music
3. Integrate values related the dance performing

A. TOPIC: Folk Dances


B. REFERENCES: The 21st Century MAPEH in ACTION (K to 12)
C. MATERIALS: Pictures, Video presentation

III: PROCEDURE

A: PREPARATORY

1. PRAYER
(The teacher will ask all the students to
stand)

“Please all stand for our opening The students will stand and pray
prayer.”

2. Checking of attendance and


Appropriate P.E uniform / comfortable

B: DRILL

(The teacher will conduct a zumba


dance)

Okay class, may I request all of you to


please stand? We will dance first.

Do you want to dance class? Yes Teacher!

Okay class, just follow the action shown the


TV.

(The teacher and students are dancing).


Afterwards they went back to their seats.

Class did you enjoy? Yes!

C: MOTIVATION

(The teacher will present a picture of


different folk dances. Then the teacher we
will ask all of her students to identify what
folk dances were shown on the TV?)

Okay class, do you know what folk dance is


this?
Tinikling, Itik-Itik, Maglalatik,
Very good! Carinosa, Singkil

(After presenting the pictures, the teacher


will ask them.)

So! Class, what do you think is our lesson for


today?
Our lesson for today is all about
“Folk Dances”

D: PRESENTATION

This morning we’re going to perform the


basic fundamental dance positions and
enumerate the popular folk dances in the
Philippines.

1. STANDARD

But before that, what will you do while


we are having our performance.

(The teacher will call 3 students to


answer.)

E: DISCUSSION

(The teacher present the basic fundamental


dance position. After presenting the basic
fundamental dance position, the teacher
will proceed to the popular folk dances in
the Philippines.)

Okay class, this morning we’re going to


perform the basic fundamental dance
position.
May I request everybody to please stand,
and kindly bring your chair at the back for
having enough space to perform. All students will stand and start
moving their chair.

BASIC FUNDAMENTAL DANCE POSITIONS;

POPULAR FOLK DANCES IN THE PHILIPPINES

FOLK DANCE ORIGIN DESCRIPTION


1.Itik-Itik Surigao del The dancer

3.Tinikling Leyte A pair of

battle for the
latik or
coconut
meat.
5.Carinosa Bicol A woman
dancers

affection by
using
handkerchief
and a fan to
hide her
feelings from
the dancing
suitors.
F: EVALUATION

(The teacher will conduct a pair activity.


They’ll performed together the basic
fundamental dance positions.)

Okay class, time is up!

(Teacher has already prepared the names


of students. They have the draw lots. The 1st
who pick the name was the teacher, and
then if who was the 2 first named called by
the teacher was the 1st performer. After the
1st performer they’ll pick another pair for the
next performer.)

(The teacher will ask the students to answer


a question)
