separately. For example, at the end of a calibration,
you can apply a suggested correction only to Cell 1,
while you reject it for Cell 2, or vice versa. To know

SVM 4001 is ideally suited for testing lubricants and
for VI determination. Still, with SVM 4001, you can
measure most of the samples listed for SVM 3001

2. Screw the free end of the hose into the sample
inlet.
3. Tighten both hose connectors with your fingers.

The pressure when filling or pressing sample out
of the cells must not exceed 500 kPa = 5 bar

samples.
A too high pressure may also cause damage to
the measuring cells. In this case Anton Paar is
not liable for damage.

3. Squeeze the wash bottle to fill the cells with
cleaning liquid. Fill until you see the liquid in the

prevents that the liquid drains out of the cells
due to suction when removing the wash bottle.
Do not stop squeezing the wash bottle while it is
connected to the filling support.

time release the pressure on the bottle. This
prevents that you suck sample and cleaning
liquid back into the wash bottle. The liquid
should not reach the highest point of the waste

7.1 Leak Test
A leak test checks whether the measuring cells are
leak-tight. Leak-tightness is vital for correct function
of SVM and for stable and reliable measuring
values. Perform a leak test once a month, but
always after cleaning the rotor (see section 7.3) and 5
if SVM does not achieve stable measuring values.
The measuring cells must be clean and dry when
you perform a leak test. See section 6.2.1.
