Gas Distribution in ESP

GAS DISTRIBUTION

Before commissioned a gas distribution test is carried out and adjusted to get an uniform
distribution over the entire cross section area throughout the ESP life to assure the
expected performance. If the gas distribution is disturbed , the efficiency will deteriorate
depending on how bad the gas distribution is.

IDEAL CONDITION - UNIFORM VELOCITY OVER FULL HEIGHT & WIDTH OF COLL PLATE
- NO FLOW IN ROOF OR HOPPER ZONE

• Uneven Gas and Dust Distribution

• Uneven Current distribution
• Increase in Gas velocity unevenly.
• Deteriorated life of internals - Erosion, Sparking etc.
• Untreated gas / Sneakage
• Erosion on Fan Impeller

All above lead to High Emission and Maintenance cost
