Past Simple

1. What is Past Simple Tense?

Past Simple Tense is a verb tense which is used to show that a completed action
took place at a specific time in the past.
2. When do we use past simple tense?
When you are talking about something that has already happened.
3. What is the pattern of past simple tense?
( + ) Subject + Verb2

( – ) Subject + did not + Verb1

( ? ) Did + Subject + Verb1

4. Make 10 sentences by using past simple tense!

 Two boys played with a ball.

 An old lady walked with her cat.

Past Continuous Tense

1. What is past continuous tense?
The past continuous tense, also known as the past progressive tense, refers to a
continuing action or state that was happening at some point in the past.

2. When do we use past continuous tense?

The past continuous describes actions or events in a time before now, which
began in the past and is still going on at the time of speking.

3. What do we the pattern of past continuous tense ?

Positive : Subject + was/ were + Ving

Negative : Subject + was/ were + not + Ving

Question : Was/ were + Subject + Ving
