ICT Clinical Design Criteria
This document is intended to provide design criteria for ICT and security systems design. This document is to be read in conjunction
with the latest HMC standards and policies.
Designers shall select and design infrastructure and systems for high availability, performance and security that meets or exceeds the
industry standard for use in and support of hospital applications.
All new technology systems that are not currently installed at HMC facilities must be approved by HMC HICT prior to installation.
The applicable codes and standards are to be complemented by the design criteria in this document to de ne a higher level of
performance or speci c methods of achieving the requirements where required.
The level of detail provided in the design criteria has been adapted based on the nature of the facility. Criteria for clinical facilities
are more prescriptive than for non-clinical facilities.
All design criteria sections apply to clinical facilities. The table below identi es the applicability of each section to non-clinical
