Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in
societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development. (Environment and sustainability) 8. Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice. (Ethics) 9. Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings. (Individual and team work). 10. Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. (Communication) 11. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments. (Project management and finance) 12. Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change. (Life-long learning)
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
On successful completion of B. Tech. (ME) Program, graduates
will be able to:
1. Apply principles and concepts pertaining to Fundamental sciences,
Humanities and Mechanical Engineering in solving problems of practical interest in sub domains of Manufacturing, Thermal, Design and Management Sciences.
2. Analyze problems of practical importance in research and
industry by integrating engineering sciences.
3. Design mechanical components, systems or processes to meet
desired functionality with realistic constraints.
4. Conduct investigations on complex engineering problems to
obtain plausible solutions in the sub domains.
5. Apply appropriate analytical, experimental and computational
tools and resources by integrating multifaceted requirements from various sub domains.

The Challenge of Change
“M astery of change is in fact the challenge of
moving human attention from an old state to a new state. Leaders can shift attention at the right time and to the right place. The real crisis of our times is the crisis of attention. Those who lead are the ones who can hold your attention and move it in a purposeful way. Transformation is nothing but a shift in attention from one form to another. The form of a beautiful butterfly breaks free from a crawling caterpillar. If you pay enough attention, you would be able to see how the butterfly hides within the caterpillar. The leader points out a butterfly when the follower sees only a caterpillar”.
