Directions: There will be a picture that is flashed on the screen. The students should
prepare ¼ piece of paper to write the expressions for the areas of two given figures on
the pictures. They will be given 5 minutes to answer and solve the problem.
1. Did the first figure help you to solve the second figure?
b. Firming up (Analysis)
1. How did you find your answer for the second rectangle?
2. If you find the area by multiplying the total length times total width, what property of
operations are you using?
3. What did you call on the process of finding the total area?

c. Deepening (Abstraction)
1. Who can give me an example on how to factor the given formula on this picture?
2. Based on your previous activity, what would be another way to find the factors of the
polynomial?

d. Transferring (Application)
1. Find the total area on this picture by using the other method of factoring.

V. ASSESSMENT
Directions. In ½ crosswise write the table and completely factor each polynomial using appropriate method.
Answer it by pair. 2 points each number, 1 point if the answer is incorrect and zero if no answer.

VI. ASSIGNMENT
Directions. In ½ piece of paper, give me 5 polynomial and its factor.

Directions. In a 1 whole sheet of paper, write a poem at least 2-4 stanza using any types of figure of speech.

regarding to this question ‘it is impossible to dig through the ground to the other side of
the Earth?”. One group should defend YES while the next group is NO. Each of the
defender should be given 1 minute for his/her claim.

1. What do you think will happen if you dig your way through the ground and getting
deeper?
2. Do you think the digger could reach the other side of the earth?
3. What do you think is the reason why it is impossible to dig this ground to the other
side of the earth?

of the pictures?

Directions: The students will be group into 5. Draw an apple that will be flashed on
screen, label it and answer the question below. There will be one member each group
to present their output and share their answer in the front.
1. Why is the planet Earth being compared to an apple? What do you think is the
similarities and why? Share your answer on your classmate and defend why.

V. ASSESSMENT
Directions. Read the information to learn about Earth’s layers. When you are done reading it, see if you can
label each layer in the illustration. In ½ piece of paper, draw the illustration and label it.

VI. ASSIGNMENT
Directions. In your science notebook, answer this question “What do you think is the reason why the inner
core is in solid state while the outer core is in liquid state?
