INTRODUCTION
• The Ocean and Land Colour Instrument (OLCI) onboard Copernicus Sentinel-3A & -3B satellites primary objective is screening the ocean and land surface to harvest
information related to biology, the atmosphere and climate. OLCI's spectral definition permits a fine characterisation of vegetation with the three parameters: OGVI (OLCI
Global Vegetation Index) –FAPAR-, LAI and OTCI (OLCI Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index).
• FAPAR (Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation) (0.40 - 0.70 μm) directly relates to the state and evolution of vegetation and, thus, to primary production.
